Overview:  The Keeshond is very affectionate. He loves to join his family out outings and is great with kids.
Breed Group:  Northern
AKC Breed Group:  Non-Sporting
Weight: male: 45, female: 35 (Lbs.)
Height: male: 17-19, female 16-18 (Inches.)
Color(s):  Mixture of gray, black, and cream. Undercoat is pale, and tips of the outer coat are black. Black muzzle, ears, tail tip, and spectacle lines, reaching from the outer eyes corners to the ears.
Coat:  It has a lonf, straight, harsh outer coat, standing off from its body, a good mane and a thick undercoat.
Character:  Keeshonds are eager learners. Always upbeat, these are watchful and loyal companions.
Temperament:  This breed must be introduced to cats at a young age, if they are expected to cohabitate with them. They get along well with children, and bark at strangers.
Care:  The Keeshond requires regular grooming only during the time of shedding. At other times, minimize combing.
Training:  This breed is intelligent, so training is very easy and straightforward.
Activity:  The Keeshond needs a moderate amount of exercise, but can adapt to your activity level.
Country of Origin:  Netherlands
Health Issues:  This breed is prone to hip dysplasia, skin problems, and heart disease.
