    Maise

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Siberian Husky
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / Siberian Husky / Mixed. Maise is a 4yr old husky who has been through a lot in her short life. Maise came to us as an owner surrender. We found out she was adopted from a county shelter last year and has been passed around a few times. When Maise was at the shelter she showed no issues with people or other dogs. But it is clear someone was abusive to this precious girl. She came to us heartworm positive, in heat, missing a few front teeth, not dog or kid friendly, and scared. Miss Maise is a very sweet girl, but likes things on her own terms. If she is forced to do anything she will become defensive and may bite. Instead she needs positive reinforcement, and redirection. At this time she needs to be an only animal. She likes to have her space all to her self where she can feel at ease. Maise is very protective of her things, such as her toys, bones, water, and food. If you go near her things and she feels threatened she will try to bite. For this same reason she cannot go to a home with kids. Maise knows a few basic commands such as sit, and down. She also does well on leash and is not a big puller. Maise has gone through reactive rover class and passed with flying colors. She is not reactive to other animals passing by (most times), but still must be an only dog. She will react and try to bite another dog if they get in her space. The ideal adopter for Maise would be someone who wants her as an only animal where she can be comfortable, with no kids. Also the adopter must be willing to do training with her to help her continue to grow, and to help the adopter bond to Maise. She would do best in a quiet home where there will be boundaries set up, and an area just for her to call her own. Maise is house trained, and is not a chewer. When left alone she has not done anything wrong. However she should be crated, and not have free run of the house, because she may claim your area as her own and become protective over it. She just needs a quite place to call home with people all to herself that will make her feel confident and loved while not letting her walk over top of her new owners. She has been treated for heartworms, and is now heartworm free. Maise is spayed, and up to date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $225, if you have additional questions please email her foster mom at MegansHuskies@gmail.com applications can be found at secondchancenc.org

    Breed: Saint Bernard-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shepherd / Saint Bernard / Mixed. Hey there! My name is Reuben, and I would love to meet you, because I love meeting everyone! My foster mom says I'm a big guy at almost 70lbs, but you'd never know it with how gentle I am! Whenever I meet a new friend I like to give them a good nuzzle and a lick just to make sure they know we are pals. My foster mom likes to call me the strong silent type...probably because she's never even heard me bark! I'm a quick learner too. I had already mastered sit and down after just a couple of days in my new house, so now we are working on some new stuff! I like learning, because I get yummy treats when I get things right! I wasn't too sure about this whole living inside thing at first, but I settled into the new place quick. The bath I had to get on my first day was no fun, but I took it like a champ, and I've never even had a single accident in my new house! I'm still getting used to my crate, but I'll go in if you bribe me with a couple of treats. My foster mom does a lot of studying in the evenings, which I don't mind at all... I'm a pretty chill guy after all. Between walks I pass the time by napping on my bed and following the cat around just to make sure she's not up to anything...you know how cats are after all. Sometimes if she runs across the room I'll chase her, but I don't do anything mean once I catch her. She's not very much fun to play with anyway....I much prefer the company of other dogs. So far my foster mom has let me meet a couple of other big dogs and I did great! We went on a walk together and then wrestled for almost an hour straight! I am neutered, heartworm negative, and am on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $225. To adopt me, please fill out an application using this link: https://www.secondchancenc.org/adopt-a-pet/dog-adoption-application/?src=sidebar If you have any questions or want to meet me email my foster mom at arbutler@ncsu.edu and she would love to tell you all about me! Hope to see you soon!

Posted Breed: Cattle Dog / Cattle Dog / Mixed. Hi! My name is Penelope, aka Nelly, and I am the sweetest gal around! I'm a young girl, around 1 - 2 years old, and am an awesome weight at around 35-40 pounds. My foster mom says I'm the perfect small-medium size! I am a very playful gal and I love everyone and every dog I meet. I am a little angel with foster mom around, and I only chew on things I should chew on, but if left unattended I can be a little mischevious! Foster mom crates me when she is not around and I don't mind, especially when she leaves me a good, safe chew toy to keep me Busy! I do well in a fenced in yard and just romp around and play with my foster siblings. I do okay walking on leash but still have some manners to learn! I am going to make someone that wants a confident, athletic, and very loving companion the happiest person in the world! Foster mom calls me a shadow dog because I like to be with her wherever she goes! I almost went in the shower with her once but then decided it wasn't worth it lol! My best friend at my foster home is Marge! I would love to be adopted with her or at least to a home with other dogs! I really enjoy the company and since I have a lot of energy it would help out my forever family as well! I have met my foster moms nine year old niece and eleven year old nephew and I just love them to pieces! Kids are fun, especially the older ones that want to play with me and understand that I'm a puppy! I let them lay all over me and I love every second of it! I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and on my monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. I am heartworm negative and have been dewormed! My adoption fee is $225! If you have any questions about me please feel free to reach out to my foster mom at laura@secondchancenc.org! If you are sure you want the chance to adopt me, fill out an application here: Adoption Application I can't wait to meet my forever family! Could it be you?? :)
