Posted Breed: Poodle (Toy) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team I'm a project - I've never known a human I could trust Date into Rescue: 12/3/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Rescued from a puppy mill. Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? None noted Weight: 6.5 lb Height: About 7 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No - but it would be a big plus. Plan to do a lot of leash training and have a lot of patience if you don't have a fenced in yard to start potty training. What kind of home would be best for me? Duncan has not had a good life and he needs a lot of patience and time. We're looking for an experienced puppy mill rehabber who understands loving a puppy mill dog is a lifelong commitment. The reward of a social dog who shows his love may be a long time in coming (if it ever does) but is worth the work to get to it. He must have another happy and gregarious dog in his home, preferably a dog around his size, who he can pal around with. What is my personality like? Extremely happy with other dogs, especially female dogs around his size. He is a very shy guy with people, but his foster home is working with him. He's been with them a short period of time and Duncan is already following his foster parents from room to room. He has started asking for affection, he loves to run zoomies in the yard, and he is learning from the dogs in his foster's home. He rarely moves back from being touched or picked up now that he's warmed up to his foster home. He will probably still do this with new people, but he's shown us that he can warm up quickly. How do I act when I first meet new people? Timid and fearful. He does take time to warm up to new people, but his foster home is working on this! Other tips and tidbits: He loves sleeping with us & loves ear rubs! Duncan needs continued work on socialization and building trust, but he has shown his foster home that he is eager to bond with someone and finally be a beloved pet. With Duncan's age, our best guess is between 8 and 10 years. His listed birth date is a guess. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending! DOB: 2/25/2011 Requires another dog in home: Yes, until proven otherwise Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard: Unknown Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hi I'm Louisa! A sweet and adorable 6 (almost 7) year old, 8 pound Poodle ready for my furever home. My foster mom says I'm a lovely lady! I love my furry foster siblings and they love me, but who wouldn't? I'm so cute! I also really enjoy being held and getting lots of pets and snuggles. I have really picked up on how to walk on a leash, I'm a natural! It's so fun getting to go for a walk and explore new things. Overwhelming commotion makes me a little nervous, I'm new to this good life but I'm learning there are so many things that I really like; my kibbles and soft treats are the best! Since I'm new to rescue there will be more information to come as my foster family gets to know me more. Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Posted Breed: Poodle (Toy). Summer is a 6 lb, 13 year old black toy poodle. She came in from a shelter in late November with some other senior poodles. She had a lump on her tummy that our vet has removed. Her tummy is healing well from the surgery. Very sweet, adorable girl who loves sitting in your arms. She also enjoys being outdoors and loves to explore. She hasn't been a barker. When she wants in or out, she scratches on the door. She had been turned in to the shelter by a family who had too many dogs. They said she was good with kids and other dogs. She was learning to be house trained and leash trained. **She got a great new grooming to start off the new year! You can see it in all her pics. Are you my furrever family? No one knew he had epilepsy when he came to us 2 years ago but it wasn't long before we did. Brenda his foster mom has taken such good care with Boone. While he gets along with most dogs, he prefers being the only dog, he came from a large puppymill. He has never been around children so we don't want to cause him stress so no children for Boone. If looking for that very special small dog that will be totally velcroed to you, check out our darling Boone.

I do have a few medical issues due to my advanced age of maybe about 12 years old. I would love to have a forever home where I am spoiled.
