Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, .dpsrescue for an application. Our adoption fee is $400 for adults and $400-$600 for puppies (each puppy will list their individual adoption fee on the biography). * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: .facebook/DPSRescue This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, Feb. 23rd from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, Feb. 24th from 11-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed. The Fast Food litter of 3 boys and 4 girls. Mom was an Aussie-Border Collie mix and Dad was an Aussie-GSD mix. The puppies are large size puppies now at 9 weeks old (2-14-19) weighing 15-20lbs. They are expected to potentially be over 60lbs when full grown. They are currently in a foster home with other dogs. They get to play with lots of other dogs every day so they are getting good socialization. They get to play with big dogs and little dogs. They also love to play with toys. Despite all of the fabulous toys they are given, their favorites are the empty water bottles that they get to crunch, squeak, chew and destroy. The litter also lives with cats. Interesting when they were younger the cats kind of ruled the roost but now that the pups are getting bigger and friskier, the cats are having to employ different tactics to maintain their control with this crazy group of puppies. We received a phone call that the Mom and litter were headed to the shelter and asked if we could intercept. We agreed to do so. Mom is super sweet and loving and got along great with other dogs. She will eventually be looking for her new home. Right now she's recovering from motherhood and getting doted on after taking care of this crazy, athletic, full of life litter of pups. We will only consider homes who have had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 6.

    Zombie D1817...

    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Name: Zombie Age: DOB 8/23/2018 Gender: Male Breed: Border Collie / Aussie mix Weight: 17 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: TBD Kid friendly: Yes House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Energy level: Puppy! History: Owner surrender from Oklahoma Adoption Fee: $450 From the Foster: Zombie is a high energy pup who is constantly on the move. Zombie loves spending his time rough housing with his large foster fur brothers, playing fetch, chasing the squirrels, long walks on the trails, going to dog-friendly places to meet other dogs and people, exploring the backyard when he gives up pestering his foster fur brothers. If you’re an active person and dreamed of having a fur side kick Zombie could be your boy. Or if you currently have a dog that needs someone to play with then Zombie could be their partner in crime. Zombie also plays well with kids of all ages, especially if they’re willing to play an endless game of fetch. Zombie is a smart boy. At nearly 5 months old he knows his name, he can sit, lay, sometimes roll over and play dead (usually he mimics his foster fur brother). I strongly believe he can learn anything if you stick with it. Also providing lots of treats- he is a treat driven dog. Not only does he have the smarts, but Zombie is far more handsome in person. We get so many compliments on this guy! Some other miscellaneous facts about Zombie: he sheds a little; he barks at the door, when the mailman passes through and sometimes when he plays; he hasn’t played with a cat before but I don’t think living with one would be an issue for him; he is 17lbs at 4 months and even though we can never be certain how big a puppy will be as an adult, the vet guesses he’ll be double that size at full growth; he needs work on a leash; his lips sometimes get stuck up on his gums causing him to look ridiculous, but don’t worry he’s use to us laughing at him by now; he chases his tail; he has acquired a taste for apples and bananas; he isn’t fond of baths; he sleeps on top of the covers; he’s not a fan of wearing clothes; he is teething so he needs someone to be understanding if you catch him chewing on non-dog things; he does great in a crate when we are not home (4 hours max); he sleeps through the night without needing to potty; he is potty trained in my home, but I have a doggy door with a fence which gives him the freedom to go as he pleases; he doesn’t dig; I haven’t seen him try to clear my privacy fence; does well with new people and dogs; as an odd obsession with jingly things attached to lanyards; sock thief. Zombie would do best in a home that would offer him a life with A LOT of stimulation whether it's frequent trips to doggy daycare, parks, a fur brother/sister that can keep up with him, a fenced yard to let him have free reign, a large family to entertain him or even a person or two that can be very active with him. There are many ways to entertain a dog, but it's the matter if you're willing to do those things or have the means.

    Age: Adult

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed. Chex is a 3-4 year old collie/shepherd/heeler mix. He is a very sweet, affectionate boy who loves being close to his people. He knows some basic commands, but is eager to please and would learn quickly. He does really well with other dogs and seems to be good around kids. Chex does pretty well in his crate and walking on a leash. With time and training he will be a pro! He is mostly house-broken and finds strange and hilarious places to do his business outside. He loves going on walks and hikes. Chex is looking for someone to give him the physical and mental stimulation he needs to be the best dog he can be. He will be an excellent companion for a family or an individual! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at caws/adoption-application

Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Trooper! This sweet senior has been handed a pretty foul deal. This senior first found himself dumped at a high risk shelter in Houston, then while at the shelter, he was seriously injured. It wasn't until Scout's Honor went to pick him up 3 DAYS LATER that it was discovered that he had injuries to his hind legs, front legs and a spinal injury! We scooped him up and rushed him to our vet and into an AMAZING foster home. He is learning to trust (and to walk) again and despite how horrible humans have been to him, he greets everyone with a smile and some love! Vist scoutshonor to adopt this sweet senior today!

Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Please contact Rose (japchinrosegmail) for more information about this pet. Hi there, My name is sweet sweet Layla. My foster family say's I am pretty much the perfect dog! I am a very active, affectionate, life-loving 6 month old Australia Shepard/Border Collie mix. I am 99% potty trained, kennel trained, good with kids, cats and most definitely other dogs. I listen and understand commands and am eager to learn all that you can teach me. I would do best if I had a "job", as I may get bored and destructive if I don't know what to do with my energy. Daily exercise is a MUST and a fenced in yard would be ideal. I would love to join a family with older kids to play with me, as well as another dog, as I seem sad when I am without my foster sister. If you like doggie kisses, full lean in hugs and total loyalty, then look no more. I am sure to make your family complete! To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $250 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, positive obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranaged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.
