All About Henry – Handsome Boxer Terrier Mix Dog For Adoption in Chandler AZ Henry is a 45 pound bundle of cuddles. This very smart and handsome dog is a nice mix of Boxer and Terrier, possibly Amstaff, American Bulldog or American Pit Bull Terrier. He is in exceptional health and has been neuturered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and is up to date on shots. He is an awesome companion, and in the right home, he will shine. He is 16 months old, and has undergone plenty of obedience training. Henry’s family love him so much. They had hoped to be his forever family. However, as Henry has matured, it has become apparent that he has a lot of anxiety in situations in which he is overwhelmed. With lots of teenagers coming and going in their home (and the associated bedlam) Henry has lots of opportunity to feel anxious. Henry’s trainer has adviced the family that they would be best to find him a quieter home where he will feel calm, safe and loved. His ideal home will be one with adults only, and where he can be an only pet. Then he can focus being the most devoted companiion on earth

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

      Breed: Blue Lacy
      Sex: Male Male
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
Gunnar is a typical Blue Lacy, he loves to be outdoors and exploring or hunting. He is a devoted people dog, but he will wander a little in search of fun. His owner has recently seen a big increase in travel and time away from home and poor Gunnar is feeling left behind. They want more than anything to find him a great home with a fenced yard and active family that will help Gunnar enjoy his youth. He used to be an inside dog most of the time, but recently moved to a home near the beach and with a nice big yard. He loves it! Lacy dogs are a very special breed, developed in Texas as herding and hunting dogs. They are tough, athletic, highly intelligent and dedicated. Lacys do best when they have a job to do, whether it’s herding livestock or tracking wild boars – or following their owner around and helping with chores. Gunner is no exception, and he is ideally looking for a home with owners who are active and enjoy getting out and doing stuff. He is good with other dogs, and is patient and loving with children. He has not been around cats, so it would be best for him to be placed in a cat-free home. If you are already a Lacy fancier, or are interested in adopting an incredibly handsome dog with a blue-grey coat, human-like intelligence, and a sensible, no-nonsense personality, Gunner is waiting to meet you. Please offer Gunner his forever home today. There is a $150 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included. Questions about Gunner? Text or call our Florida dog rehoming team at (888) 720-3322. You can reach us by email at gunnerdog-lover.us. We look forward to hearing from you.

    • Lexi is a gorgeous Beagle/German Shep mix Mix Dog For Adoption in NEWPORT BEACH, CA, USA

      Brinkley

      rescue
Breed: Lexi is a gorgeous Beagle/German Shep mix Mix
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
This very pretty German Shepherd mix dog is looking for a loving, forever home in a more rural setting, where she is not constantly on guard due to the sights, sounds and scents of city life. A great companion, wonderful with kids, but she hates noisey places and yappy dogs. This beautiful 5 year old female black and tan German Shepherd mix is up to date on shots, spayed, healthy and house trained. Brinkley takes her responsibility for guarding her home and owners very seriously. An admirable trait, but living in such a busy, urban area, this happens far too much. She is also nervous on walks, due to there being so many people and other dogs around her. Brinkley needs a home in a more rural area. She would love to have a large, securely fenced yard and a quiet home with a very strong routine. She is such a sweet, charming and very intelligent dog. She is a wonderful companion, and makes her family feel very special. Brinkley is wonderful with children, and accepting of most other dogs, providing she gets the chance to become acquainted with them. She is not a fan of small dogs, however, particularly those with “small dog syndrome”. She will be rehomed with all supplies and vet records. All you need to add is love! There is a $100 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.
