    Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux (short coat). Age: 3-6 Weight: 95 and gaining Location: Perkasie PA Nicknames: Juicy, Juicy Fruit, Moose Good with other dogs?: Yes. Juice seems interested in other dogs. So far, other than our resident dog Maxine, he hasn't meet other dogs face to face. He has interacted with the neighbor dog through the fence and seems very excited about her. We would suggest no small dogs since he does have a high prey drive. Good with cats? unknown Good with children? unknown Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time, Will go with the flow, Champion couch potato, would like a nice walk once a day IQ: Smart Juice's favorite things: Juice LOVES people and good. He also enjoys chewing on bones and playing tug-o-war with a rope toy Juice is good at: staying in his crate, behaving in the house, making me feel safe, cuddling, playing Ideal home: quiet environment, fenced in yard Training Needs: leash training, obedience training Health issues: Just needs to gain weight Meet Juice: What can I say about Juice? We don't know much about how he came into the shelter in Chicago. What we do know is that he was transported over the course of two day from there to us. It was a long journey for this boy!! Juice is very underweight but is slowly gaining through twice a day feedings. He gets along with resident dog/foster sister Maxine, they don't really bother too much with each other. I would say a low key doggy pal would be great for Juice. He does react to other dogs barking. Right now we're not sure if it's more of a "I want to play with that dog" reaction or not. We are still learning him and him us. We do know for a fact that little dogs are a big NO for him. He does have a high prey drive and we just don't think little dogs or cats are for him. It doesn't seem as if Juice was ever in a home before. While he is potty trained, there are no manners to be had!! No worries though, he's a smart cookie and is learning these things quickly. He is VERY food motivated and he will counter surf if left to his own devices. Juice is crated on a daily basis while we are at work and will go in without much of a fuss, even better if you have a treat!! He has no leash manners at all, which is something we are working with him on. Again, he is very smart and has already started to pick some of this up in the short time we've had him. Please be aware, as with any mastiff, he is very slobbery and has no problem drying his face on you!! Overall, Juice is a great dog and really just wants to be with people. This boy is a muscular short stack with the most adorable face pranced his way into his foster family's hearts! Waldor comes to ABR from a southern shelter where he was a stray. He's great with other dogs and is very affectionate and playful. Waldor is about 4-5 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. He's perfectly happy chewing a bone, playing with a stuffy or resting his head on your lap. He's great in a crate and free in the house, house trained and good on a leash. He is not destructive. He gets a long great with his canine foster sister taking her cues and correction when she doesn't want to be bothered, which is a lot! Waldor is more interested in human attention anyway! Waldor "Wally" Wallingford is a great little (ok he's little to us) guy who easily settled into his foster home becoming a part of the family. Breed: American Bulldog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Bulldog (short coat). Please contact Debbie (DebAmericanbulldogRescue) for more information about this pet. Dog:Iris Elizabeth Age:4 Weight: 65 Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Good with other dogs?: Dog selective. Iris does well most of the time with her foster canine sister but is having spats more and more. It’s becoming clear that Iris would do best as an only dog. Her foster mom’s theory is that Iris was just bred and bred and never really had a good relationship with other dogs. She spent her entire life having puppies and taking care of them never giving her the opportunity to establish herself and form good doggie behavior. Good with cats? no Good with children?unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 15 Activity Preference: Will go with the flow, Champion couch potato, “Energy, do you mean like walking to my food bowl?” IQ: Smart Iris Elizabeth’s favorite things: Iris loves people, stuffies, bones, belly rubs, and ear scratches! Iris Elizabeth is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, cuddling Ideal home: no children, quiet environment, a fenced yard Training Needs: Health issues: Iris has dilated cardiomyopathy. What is it? DCM is a disease of the heart muscle that results in weakened contractions and poor pumping ability. As the disease progresses the heart chambers become enlarged, one or more valves may leak, and signs of congestive heart failure develop. Iris is asymptomatic. Dogs with DCM can live a full happy life. She also has severe elbow and hip dysplasia. She’s doing very well with daily supplements and pain medications. She also underwent a gold wire therapy procedure (just like the one our Timmy T had) and it's given her a bit more pep in her step! MEET IRIS ELIZABETH Iris is a beautiful Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog. She’s got a beautiful blue merele coat (although it looks black to me LOL). One eye is a crystal blue and the other the deepest soulful brown. The most beautiful part about her pure heart. She’s obviously been used for breeding and hasn’t had an easy beginning. Iris is probably no older than 4 but her hard life makes her appear older. Iris’ only desire in life is to give love and get love. She is the best cuddle bug! She likes to hang in the kitchen and watch all the action hoping to be the taste tester! When greeting you returning home from work or even just waking in the morning, Iris is so happy to see you! She will grab a favorite stuffy and prance around with a wagging tail to celebrate your return! She gives out kisses by the dozen! Iris is learning to not be afraid of noises like the vacuum and hair dryer. She lets you cut her nails, give her a bath and clean her ears. She waits patiently (drooling) while watching you to prepare her meals. After eating she’ll go out and go potty. DCM will probably shorten her life, but we never know how long any of us will be here. It’s not a death sentence at all! She’s totally asymptomatic and lives a perfectly normal life. Her orthopedic issues can also be managed. She’s very comfortable and happy. We know that Iris will need a very special adopter who is ready to welcome her into their hearts and home to help Iris live her best life!
