verifiedPosted Breed: Dogo Argentino (short coat). Meet glorious Fiona! Fiona is a purebred Dogo Argentino. She's about two years old, and about 90 pounds. She's basically a giant lapdog, and happiest surrounded by people. She needs one solid bout of exercise per day (she's a surprisingly great running companion!), but otherwise loves to just snuggle and lounge on the couch. She's a big chewer and likes to patrol the house and keep an eye on the front porch and the squirrels in the backyard. Her biggest need is constant companionship. She really thrives around people, and is indifferent towards other dogs. She sometimes will paw and nibble on her people, trying to force people to pet her. She loves affection that much! When she meets new people, she has even tried to sit on them to try to get them to pet her. She is a big goofball who does need some firm boundaries. She does well with other dogs in large groups, but struggles more during 1:1 interactions where she can feel a bit insecure. She will likely do best as the only dog in the home. Her ideal situation would be with someone able to give her lots of love throughout the day (she has some separation anxiety when her people are away), someone who can give her a long walk or run daily (going to human social events seems to burn a lot of her energy, too), and a home without other dogs or kids. When she gets all that, she's the biggest sweetheart, loved by anyone who meets her. She is now updated on all shots, spayed and will be chipped. Her adopt fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! verifiedPosted Breed: Dogo Argentino (short coat). ADOPT ME Jon is a new addition to the Cedar Valley Pit Bull Rescue family. He is a young (10 month) Dogo Argentino who loves people and other dogs. He is a bit shy but wants to be near people and loves to run and play. He knows sit and his name. Jon does have a cleft palate and will need adopters who will keep him on a regimented food diet to ensure that he doesn't get food stuck and cause choking or infection. He is on a food that works well for him, and he currently eats slowly in his kennel which helps him self-manage his cleft palate.Tags:

verifiedPosted Breed: Dogo Argentino (short coat). Buddy is a nine month old deaf Dogo Argentino. He is purebred. His owner was unable to keep him, as he was moving. Buddy is well socialized with other dogs, and has started beginners obedience training. He's a very large pup, and is going to be a very BIG dog. He has lots of energy, and is starting to "test" people, as the breed is known to do at this age. Please do some research on the breed. Dogos are bred to hunt wild boar and large game, and can be very dominant and persistent. They can also be very wonderful family companions, and that takes some work, patience, love and consistency. We're looking for a forever family for Buddy that is going to be committed to working with him every day to make sure he matures into a good canine citizen. If you would like to meet Buddy, please complete our online application for adoption: .deafdogrescueofamerica/adoption-application.html.
