    Zoey

    Breed: Chow Chow-Mastiff Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 24.6 mi from Detroit
Zoey is a Chow Chow English Mastiff Mix Dog for private adoption by owner in Macomb Michigan. Zoey has a lovely personality. 5 years old and weighing 85 pounds, Zoey is very healthy, fixed, up to date on shots, house trained and well behaved. 1.) She is easy to own, low maintenance 2.) She has those eyes that just melt your heart 3.) She is very sensitive to human emotion and just has a 6th sense when something isn’t right 4.) She is highly expressive and wears her mood on her sleeve, if you will 5.) She is super human submissive and listens without question to human commands Zoey is looking for a very loving home with owners who have lots of time for her. She would do best as an only dog in a home with a securely fenced yard. She has so much love to offer, and her size makes you feel very safe and protected. She loves walks, playing with chew toys and sleeping near the fireplace. Why is Zoey Being Rehomed? It is heartbreaking on a couple fronts, but since my lab has been diagnosed with Cancer, the stress on Zoey has caused her to become very distant, depressed, and more defensive than normal when it comes to things like food. She is used to being fed away from other dogs and any new owner should continue that practice. A home without other dogs may just offer Zoey the best life. She has so much love to give and we would love to have a family looking for a rescue ( I got her from the Michigan Humane Society as a puppy) who have a huge heart to receive all she has to offer. She is so easy to manage in the event the family gets busy and really is more like a cat than a dog. We would love nothing more than for her to be in a family where she can be the center of attention. There is a $150 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records included. Questions about Zoey? Contact our Detroit dog rehoming team today. Text “Zoey” to (888) 833-2128 or email ZoeyDog-lover.us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Posted Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Ranger resides at his foster mom's home. Please e-mail infosheltertohome for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet him. He is just a big goof ball of fun. He has learned how to play with toys and loves them. Will play for hours if you let him. He is good with kids. But because of his size and being clumsy might not be good for small children could be knocked over by mistake. He is still learning potty training. He is doing good but still has mistakes. He loves his humans and currently lives with 3 dogs and loves playing with dog friends. But all around great dog. No aggression of any kind. If you're interested in learning more about him, please email us at infosheltertohome **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $100 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion.**

Posted Breed: Beagle. Betsy resides at her foster mom's home. Please e-mail beagmom1yahoo for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet her. Ten things you need to know about Betsy. Please read them all because I saved the good stuff for last. 1. In July, Betsy was hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken on both sides. Because of this, she walks a little funny. She is not in any pain but may have arthritis as she ages. 2. She tested positive for Lyme disease and was treated. She will need re-tested in January to make sure she tests negative. 3. She was trained as a hunting dog and hunts critters in my yard every day. She has killed small animals. 4. She was kept outdoors in a pen and is not housebroken. While we have made great strides towards that goal, her new family should be prepared to have baby gates to block access to the entire house until she can be fully trusted. She lasts about 4 hours. We have someone let the dogs out at noon and she usually whines to go outside once during the night. Because she was not a house dog, she needs to be treated as if she were a puppy. She chews things and has no concept of what is or isn't a dog toy. She prefers to shred stuffed animals but she has also, on occasion, chewed holes in bottles of hand lotion or torn up paper. 5. She is loud and not suitable for a condo or apartment where her family shares walls with another unit. 6. She suffers from separation anxiety and is currently on Prozac and supplements to keep her calm. She is crated full time when we are not home and she must be in a plastic crate, not a wire one. She can't have a fluffy mat or bed in her crate or it will be shredded so we give her small fleece blankets. 7. Sometimes her anxiety causes her to go to the bathroom in her crate. When we first got her, it happened almost daily. Now it happens every couple of weeks. She is getting better! 8. She is frightened of new people and places but it's because she has never experienced them. I introduced her to a toddler and she was terrified of him because she had never met a child before. 9. She is a beagle...which means she knows how to get on chairs to get on the kitchen table and counters. You absolutely must keep all food put away and trash cans secure or kept in a closet. 10. She is a digger. We have privacy fencing with a narrow patch of dirt underneath and in order to chase the neighbor's cat that sits in our driveway, she dug under the fence. We've had beagles for 18 years and Betsy is the first one to ever outsmart us when it comes to escaping our yard. Now for the good stuff!! 1. Betsy is very snuggly and loves lap time. She would also love to sleep curled up in bed with you. 2. She's wonderful with our cats and has never shown any signs of aggression with them. 3. She is very gentle when taking treats from my hand and has no issues with food aggression. 4. She's relatively quiet outside. 90% of her barking is when she's crated. 5. She rides great in the car. 6. She doesn't beg for food when we eat and has not been given people food. 7. She weighs 21 pounds and is about 4 years old. I'm hoping for even more good things to be added to the list when she finds the perfect forever home. She will need someone who is experienced with beagles/hounds and the issues that go along with having them. While they are great, affectionate dogs, they are also stubborn, food-stealing escape artists. In my 18 years of owning/fostering beagles, Betsy is by far the most challenging for these reasons. She absolutely has the potential to be an amazing family pet with the right home that will have the patience to train her and keep her active and mentally challenged to make up for the fact that she's no longer hunting. If you are interested in Betsy and think you might have what it takes to work with her, please contact me at Beagmom1yahoo. Feel free to ask questions or even offer training suggestions! Betsy's adoption fee is $200. Thank you. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Hi there, my name is Charlie and I am a Pit Bull terrier mix. I reside at my foster mom's home. Please e-mail infosheltertohome for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet me. I've spent the last few months getting healthy after spending time in a local animal shelter. My foster Mom says i'm a good boy and am fully potty trained. I dont chew things, except my toys, and when I'm not playing outside, I like to snuggle and take naps. I currently live with a kitty named Chloe who I mostly ignore cause she scares me a little. I haven't ever met a cat before so I watch her if she gets close. I'm getting ready to go to training classes soon and my foster Mom says I'm pretty good walking on a leash although it's new for me. As I am a big boy, I would do best with older kids and adults. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Posted Breed: Shar Pei / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Zeus resides at his foster family's home. Please e-mail infosheltertohome for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet him. 2 year old Zeus is a happy 80 pound boy who came to us in January. He had Entropian, severe ear infections, and skin issues. We have come a long way since January! His eyes were successfully corrected with surgery and our Dermatologist has determined that the ear and skin issues are due to allergies. To prevent these issues from coming back, Zeus will need to have an allergy shot given at home every 2 weeks. The approximate cost for the shots is $350 per year. Weekly to bi-weekly baths using a hypoallergenic shampoo are also required to help keep the allergies from becoming a problem. Zeus was tested and we know that he is allergic to cat dander, grass pollen, fall weeds, dust mites and tree pollen. He will not be adopted to anyone who has cats since we know this will cause him problems. Zeus loves taking baths! Currently we use the Pet Supplies Plus self serve bath station. He also loves long walks, playing fetch, and earning treats. We have been working on basic commands, he is food motivated so rewarding with treats work great! He is crate trained, stays in it during the day while we work and at bed time also. Zeus has gone to daycare with other dogs and lives with two other dogs in his foster home. Daily exercise and older children are recommended for Zeus due to his size and playfulness. A fenced yard is required and he is not a good fit for someone in an apartment or condo. Adoption fee is $175.00 **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Koko is an Australian Silky Terrier/Yorkshire Terrier who was surrendered by his owner who raised him from a puppy. He is currently 6 years old. Koko is dog selective meaning he likes some dogs but not others. He would do best in a home without children. Koko has temperament issues and wants a fairly quiet, stress free home. He would need to be crated or separated if guests or children came to visit. Koko enjoys playing with toys and going on walks. He likes to snuggle when he wants to and has a BIG personality that will keep you smiling. He will need a special owner who accepts him for who he is. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. However, since his time spent in a shelter and then in rescue-based boarding, he has become very anxious around other dogs. Clearly, he has been quite traumatized from the loss of his family. Despite this, he is super affectionate and friendly. He would be best in an active home as he loves walks and playtime. Benny is also very smart and knows many commands. Right now we are desperate for Benny to find a foster or forever home of his own. Please fill out an application today and a volunteer will call to tell you more.
