Posted Breed: Papillon / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat). Here are the facts about: DIEGO Breed: Papillon/Chihuahua Mix Age: 8 years – owner who surrendered guestimated Gender: Male Weight: 7.7 pounds Shedding: Some but can be reduced w/ brushing/grooming Medical Info: Neutered, examined by vet, up-to-date on rabies, combination and Bordetella vaccines, heartworm negative, & microchipped. 8/1/18 – had a bilateral perineal hernia repair done. One knee seems to have a luxating patella. Grade 4/6 Heart murmur – seems to be loudest on the left House Trained: Unknown at the moment – we take out often & also have a belly band on him for the 1st couple of weeks to insure no marking as we observe Crate Trained: Yes Good with Children: Unknown (For the dogs safety, would prefer older children as he is fragile & falls happen) Good with Strangers: Unknown Good with Other Dogs: UK Good with Cats: UK Requires Fenced Yard: Yes so he can go do his business when he needs to Stay-at-Home Adopter and/or Canine Companion: UK Biter: UK Digger: UK Excessive Barker: No – only barks when he hears mailman, someone entering house, typically reasons a dog would bark Chewer: No Jumper/Escape Artist: Destructive/Aggressive: No Comments from the foster mom: Diego is a quite little guy & is no bigger than a minute. We are still learning him & what his needs will be as we are sure that we’re not seeing his true personality just yet as he’s still decompressing & still healing from his hernia repair. What we know right now: he is quiet, docile & just loves to get belly rubs. We are a small rescue & are limited on our resources. We take great pride in personal doing reference checks as well as home checks along w/ meet & greets to ensure that it is a perfect match all the way around. We are based out of Jacksonville, Fl & our typical adoption radius is 150 miles BUT we have been known to expand that a little for the most perfect home. A home w/ a secured, fenced-in yard is required (note: metal/wrought iron fences are not a secured fence as Diego could easily slip thru the spacing. Bird block or another fencing wrapped on the perimeter of the fence & partially buried at the bottom would help secure.) If you meet these requirements & want to apply to be reviewed when he is finally ready to be adopted, you can go to our website, go to adoption, fill out the application & email it back to us or if you wish to know more about this pet, please contact PapillonPals@comcast.net . Meet & greets happen once we check your references & afterwards, we will contact you to schedule a time to bring the dog to your home to meet your family. We don't take calls about our adoptable dogs. We are an all-volunteer organization and do not have a shelter nor a receptionist to take calls and answer questions. All our dogs are fostered in loving homes by volunteers, most of whom work then come home to take care of their families and the little rescued dogs who live as members of the family. We desperately need volunteers who are willing to foster little dogs in their homes while we search for approved adopters. We pay all the vet bills and provide supplies to our foster homes. For more information, please email Tami @ PapillonPals@comcast.net . Visit our Facebook page to see more about our adoptable dogs https://www.facebook.com/pages/Papillon-Pals-Rescue-Inc/123308784374523 For a no obligation adoption application go to: https://papillonpalsrescue.com/adoption/ Download the application to your computer, add your information and then attach the completed copy to an email and send it to us. Please note that we do not ship our dogs. We are a very small organization and are located only in Northeast Florida. We only adopt to families located in the general area that includes Florida and Southern Georgia. We are an all volunteer organization and do not have a brick and mortar facility. Please do not call us about our adoptable dogs. If you email us, we will respond, answering your questions within 48 hours of your inquiry. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Our Adoption Process: We require an application be completed and submitted if you wish to adopt a dog from Papillon Pals. Once the application is received, our Adoption Committee reviews the application to make sure the applicant meets the requirements for adopting the dog (for example: requires a fenced yard, or a stay-at-home adopter, etc.). We then check personal and vet references. If all is well with the references, we contact the applicant to schedule a time to take the dog to their home and meet all of the family. All information is then submitted to our Adoption Committee for review/approval. This process may take up to two weeks to complete. We desperately need foster homes for newly rescued dogs. If you think you might be interested in fostering a small dog, contact Tami, PapillonPals@comcast.net for more information.

She's very laid back but will play with toys if you spark her interest, which is great because she could definitely benefit from the exercise. She's on the hefty side so her food will need to be monitored & she will need daily walks, if not several daily walks. Posted Breed: Dachshund / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Marco: fun, loving, great with other dogs and people. He is completely housebroken, does not have separation anxiety when left alone. He is crate trained but enjoys sitting/sleeping on the couch with or without a human companion. He will bark to alert you that a visitor has arrived and likes to greet new people. He enjoys belly rubs and getting a bath. He is not high energy and does not require constant attention. When it comes to dinnertime, he definitely is not a beggar, nor will he try to steal food from someone else. He would be perfect for someone who has another pet or without. He was cat friendly in his previous home. As far as the dislikes, he really doesn't like to be picked up or carried around, not sure if this may be related to his previous back injury. He has been great at my house. I haven't had any issues at all. Please scroll to bottom of page for additional info about me and my email contact. If you know that I am your forever dog please fill out an online application at www.daretorescue.com and put my name on it. If you can not adopt me but would like to help DARE pay for my care while I am in their care please send check or money order made payable to DARE to: DARE 4495-304 Roosevelt Blvd. PMB 179 Jacksonville, FL 32210 You can also contact us at info@DAREtoRescue.com Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application and we will work to find a match for you. We receive dogs into foster care almost daily, so it is impossible to have every available or soon-to-be-available dog on the website.

Posted Breed: Dachshund / Chihuahua (short coat). Juanita, the Chiweenie This sweet loving girl was dumped at a kill shelter because she was "too old". But this spunky little gal is full of life and tons of kisses. She loves children and everyone else she meets and gets along well with other dogs. Cats are an unknown. She is quiet in the house and walks well on a leash. She is 16 pounds and could stand to lose a little. She is about seven years old and in very good health with the exception of being treated for very mild heart worms. Juanita is blind in one eye, but it doesn't slow her down a bit. It appears to be a condition she has lived with all her life. She is microchipped, up-to-date on her shots and needs a loving family to call her own. Posted Breed: Dachshund / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). My name is Gretchen. I have a beautiful dapple coat, and I enjoy long walks in the park. I have been with DARE since October, 2017. While I really like all of these nice folks, I would truly love to know that I can have a home where I can stay forever. At my vet check-up they said I am heartworm and parasite free. Yippee! I got my tooffies cleaned, but I lost a few that the doc said I did not want to keep in my mouth any longer. I don't know about all of that, but I am feeling great these days. My foster mommy says that I am sweet, loveable, and the perfect lap dog. I like hugs and kisses. I love all the kids, the other dogs, small and large, and even the cats. I weigh about 21 pounds and am 7 or 8 years old. I have a lot of years and love to give. I am currently being fostered north of Jacksonville, Fl. Please scroll to bottom of page for additional info about me and my email contact. Posted Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Dolly 11 years old / 12 pounds $150 adoption fee Hi, my name is Dolly. I am a 11 year old, 12 lb. red smooth girl. I think I’m a perfect size for a lap dog. I am scared of most men so I would really like to have a Mom be my new family. I get along very good with small dogs, love big nice dogs, and I’m good with cats. I would be good with older children who will treat me kindly and with respect. I am very mindful and come when called. I am working on my potty skills and my foster mom keeps a diaper on me, so I will need my new family to be patient and kind. I love to sleep in the big bed under the covers. My favorite treat is a rawhide chew. I am afraid of thunder and loud noises but I am sure I would be okay if my new family snuggles and comforts me. I am looking for my forever home. Are you my new forever family? I promise I will love you forever. Dolly is being fostered in the Jacksonville, Fl area. She is up-to-date on shots, spayed, and on heartworm and flea preventative. Please complete an application and the foster home will contact you! Please scroll to bottom of page for additional info about me and my email contact.
