    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Max.....awww this handsome boy is a bit shell-shocked. He doesn't understand why he's here and we don't either. Max is said to be house-trained, crate-trained and knows the command sit, he also plays fetch and rides in the car well too! He is around 2 years old and about 69 lbs. He is a great all-around American Lab that is wishing for a heart and home that will be his forever and in return he will give you lots of fetching playdates, tail wags and memories to last a lifetime! We believe Max would be a lot happier being the only pet in the home. He is been very selective about other dogs. All he wants is to have a personor couple to call his own who will cuddle, love, and play fetch with him all the time. He is neutered, microchipped, utd on vaccines. Posted Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound / Hound / Mixed (short coat). Howdy fellas, and ladies, names Tate here and I've come to sweep you out of your boots and hypnotize you with my mystical eyes and darling personality. I'm what they call a good ole hound dog, a Walker Hound to be exact, and I am one smooth dude! I've got the prettiest eyes (you can see them in my pictures) and one is a light brown and the other almost yellow--if you stare into them long enough you'll fall instantly in love with me. I'm a big lush and want nothing more than to be your buddy, your best buddy if you'll let me! I get along just swell with other dogs (cats, well, I like them A LOT but I should not be in a home with them because I like them a little too much and it's not safe for me to be near them). I'm a curious fella and I love to go for walks and have excellent leash manners. If you think that you would like to be my new momma or pappa and let me come hypnotize you and make you fall in love with me then fill out that little adoption application today. We can have our very own photo session together and live happily ever after...XOXO Tate Our hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am. rescue
    Breed: Siberian Husky
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Personality: None of our foster dogs are tested with cats because we have no way of testing them with cats. Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, chickens, birds, squirrels, opossums, etc., so we we don't have much success adopting them out to homes with cats. Most of our foster dogs are with us for killing cats, chickens and goats to begin with so our assumption is they are not good with cats and other small things that move. Siberians are typically good with children of all ages and the only reason we would not list them as not good with kids is because they may be too energetic and bouncy and knock over a toddler. Southern Siberian Rescue is a volunteer based 501(c)3 organization based out of Raleigh, NC, so we do not have a physical facility with operating hours that you can visit to meet our dogs. All of our foster dogs are in our personal homes. You need to fill out our adoption application (http://www.southernsiberian.com/info/adoption) and get approved to adopt and then we will set a time for you to meet our foster dogs. As a volunteer based group, we all have jobs, family, personal dogs and other commitments but we try to acknowledge and process applications as quickly as we can. That being said, we try to keep our available foster dogs as current as we can also but it is time consuming to get pics and information on new dogs so not all of our dogs are listed at all times. Please fill out our application and then we can discuss dogs that will work for you and your situation. We average 40-45 Siberians in our program so we are certain we have one that will work for you. Please know that we are not obligated to answer inquiries on dogs as we will focus on approved applicants. Again, there is ample time to discuss all of our foster dogs AFTER we have an approved application on file. We do adopt out of state as long as we can get a home check done. We ask that you, your family and existing pets make the trip to NC to meet and adopt our foster dogs. SSR can not and will not hold dogs for anyone. If we do, that means another Siberian will die in a shelter because a shelter dogs time is very limited, as is our foster space. We do our best to process applications in the order received and first application gets first interest in our foster dog(s). We understand that there will be scheduling conflicts with home checks and meet and greets but we will try to accommodate for that if a potential adopter has interest in a particular foster dog in our program. All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative. For additional information on Southern Siberian Rescue and Siberian Huskies, please visit www.SouthernSiberian.com. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Personality: Very affectionate, sweet, loveable and playful. Maroon is a complete knuckle-head. He’s a happy boy that loves to play and be at your side, until another adventure presents itself! He does great with the other dogs in his foster home and crates like a dream. He’s active and always on the go, exploring things in the back yard or a new friend. He’ll do great in a home with a playmate to run and romp with but might be a bit too exuberant for small children. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / Mixed (short coat). Personality: We have sweet Mitchell listed as special needs only because he needs socialization. He’s an awesome dog but he’s skittish and hesitant with people. He needs a home that can and will socialize him and get him out and about to experience life. Mitchell will prefer a quieter home possibly by himself or with another canine friend to play with. He does great with other dogs but doesn’t seem to understand or know how to play with others...human and canine alike. He will need time to open up and trust because it doesn’t appear that he’s had that prior to SSR. He’s a very sweet boy that lurks in the background in his foster home but you can see that he wants to be part of the pack. Are you active in hiking, walks and exploring new territory, running a few miles a day? Why not consider Mitchell as a partner for all the above. I’m sure he wants to do it, he just needs a friend to do it with. None of our foster dogs are tested with cats because we have no way of testing them with cats.
