    Breed: German Shepherd Dog

    Age: Young

Kai is a great dog in a difficult location. Kai is a young healthy and handsome purebred black and tan German Sheepherd dog for private adoption in San Jose, CA. He is a big boy at 75 pounds, and is just 18 months old. Kai is neutered, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated, house Broken, leash trained and obedience trained. Kai’s owner loves him very much. She is devastated to have to find him a loving new home. Unfortunately, she is not able to give him the environment that he needs and deserves. Kai needs a family who owns their own home with a large, securely fenced yard. Right now, Kai's home and landlord situation is not good for a larger active dog. Kai can be shy at first, but once he is comfortable with you, there is no more devoted a dog. Kai is good with children and gets along very well with other dogs. He is a young dog, and needs space and activity to keep him happy and healthy. Kai will be rehomed with all supplies and veterinary records. Please offer this amazing German Shepherd dog the loving home he needs and deserves today. A beautiful German Shepherd dog like Kai is not easy to find, and we are confident that a good owner with room for Kai to enjoy will be found soon. Questions about Kai?? Text “Kai” to (888) 833-2128 or email AdoptKaidog-lover.us There is a $150 adoption/rehoming fee. Some supplies and veterinary records will be included.

    rescue
    Breed: Bullypit
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat). Meet Sheba, a lovely pit bull, bull dog mix who is between 4 and 7 years old. The shelter thought she was 7, but our vet thinks she is much younger! She is an absolute sweetheart. She loves to be the center of attention at home and will follow you from room to room, hoping to sneak in a belly rub. Sheba is such a snuggle bug and will lie with her head in your lap grumbling with pleasure. While she really loves attention, Sheba does well staying at home without any trouble. Sheba loves playing fetch! Throw a ball for this girl and she will and she will want to keep going until she’s exhausted. She is friendly and will greet other dogs at the park, but ultimately, is always wondering where her ball is. If you want a companion to snuggle and play fetch—then Sheba is your girl! She weighs about 55 pounds and is up to date on all her shots. In her previous home she lived and was best friends with two small dogs. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Sheba is $250. If you are interested in adopting Sheba , please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process.html or if you are interested in fostering please fill out our foster application at .gratefuldogsrescue/foster-a-rescue-dog-1.html. One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

    Breed: Rat-Cha
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Rat Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Daisy is about 11 pounds and 3 years old. Daisy is a very sweet, affectionate dog with her people. She walks well on leash, not barking at people or animals. She likes to be near her foster mom in the house. Daisy comes when she is called, and loves to have a lap to sit on. Daisy can be wary of new people, and would benefit from reward based training as a verbal scolding will send her cowering in a corner. Daisy loves meeting new dogs and going for walks, or running in the yard with her canine foster sister. Daisy is house trained, or uses a dog door. Daisy is protective of her home, so would not be suitable for someone who entertains frequently. New people need to be introduced to her on neutral territory, or she can be crated when company comes over. Daisy does have a good memory for people, so once they move from stranger to friend, they stay as friend. Daisy has so much love to give! Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Daisy is $250. If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process.html. Panda

    Breed: Pug-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pug / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Panda had a great home last week and the couple adored him. However, the wife suddenly became allergic to him so he had to come back. So we need a foster or adopter at the moment. Panda is really fun and, at 21 pounds, a great size for someone that wants a small dog that can do everything a big dog does. This 2-year-old is currently in a day care/boarding facility as we haven't found a foster. He spends much of his hanging out with about 10 dogs and enjoying the people that are watching over them. He is easily trained but is a little hand shy from something in his past but that is disappearing. House trained, leash trained and ready for a family. He loves car rides as much as laps. He's working on obedience training Seems fine with children but they should be 8 or over. Since he is pretty young he should not be left alone all day, but has shown no separation anxiety. If you can meet him you will love him. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Panda is $250. Skeeter

    rescue
    Breed: Chipin
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Three-year-old Skeeter is active and alert, buzzing around like a mosquito. He had a tough start to life but is now experiencing a healthy recovery. Before being surrendered to the shelter, our Skeeter was kept in a crate and severely underfed and malnourished. This caused most of his hair to fall out. The bald patches are filling in again, but due to Skeeter’s breed mix, he never will have a thick coat. As for his mix, those bat ears suggest some chihuahua along with the min-pin, but he has long legs and a terrier personality. Only a DNA test will tell for sure! Skeeter is completely housetrained and is a sweet and loving boy, happy to curl up in a lap. But tell him he's going for a walk, and he leaps into action. He enjoys exploring the outdoors, and is learning to walk on a leash. Skeeter is totally food-motivated and loves to eat. His love of treats helps when teaching him doggie manners. He already knows "sit" and "stay." This little guy is becoming quite the character. His youthful energy might be too much for young children and cats, but it is just right for playing with toys and chasing balls. He can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs when on a leash, but in an enclosed dog park he runs and plays happily with new canine friends. Fun-loving Skeeter is looking for a home that will continue his training while enjoying his goofy antics. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Skeeter is $250. If you are interested in adopting Skeeter, please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process.html. One of our volunteers will get back to you. Posted Breed: Dachshund / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). surrender, behavior Pia is a charming, sweet dachshund mix. She is so easy to have around. She is very quiet and rarely barks. She is so affectionate and loves to be petted. Pia would be a wonderful companion for someone who could spend time with her at home, but is also perfectly fine being left alone for awhile. Breed: German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Handsome Walker is looking for a foster or adopter. He is approximately 2 years old, 73 lbs, and ready to find his new home. He is well behaved in the house and rides well in the car. It is thought that Walker might not have had much exposure to dogs in his formative months as he gets very excited to see new canine friends. He has been at a training facility for the last month in order to learn basic obedience and how to remain calm around other dogs. The difference in him is amazing as he is now able to even walk calmly past dogs that are barking at him. His trainer feels that Walker would be good at Nosework or tracking activities as he spends quite a lot of time (more than the average dog) sniffing. He might do well living with another dog if they are properly introduced. He was initially in a foster home with four older shepherds and he was very respectful of them. Walker has much potential to be a great companion and will do well with anyone committed to continuing his training. His trainer has offered to help transition him to a to a new home with some instruction. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Walker is $250.
