Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog / Pomeranian / Mixed (long coat). Umbrella of Hope "Be Our Pet" 8 yr old, 12 lb Pomeranian, Chinese Crested, American Eskimo Mix SPAYED FEMALE for ADOPTION Our ALL-VOLUNTEER team has written PARAGRAPHS about this dog and the kind of home that would suit her. Please ensure that when you email us, you address those points in this posting that would make us confident that you had read and understood those points because otherwise we will discard your email without a response as we expect that many people will see a non-shedding, healthy female dog of a desirable breed mix and will innundate us with inquiries when they are not at all an appropriate home. We took the time to write nine paragraphs of information and we expect that you take the time to address how you would be an appropriate home. Thanks for understanding. Meet Miss Bristol Airplane! She is being fostered with our rescue group in the SF Bay Area. Because she is shy, we require any potential adopters to meet her in person. Bristol joins us from San Jose Animal Care Center via San Jose Animal Advocates where she was treated by Tails of a Shelter Vet Bristol is one of a recent run of We-Have-No-Idea-A-Poo's. For now, we are guessing Havanese and Maltese Mix but we would like to get her a DNA test to know for sure. You can donate below to make that happen :) Suggestions welcomed in the comments. UPDATE: Her DNA test came back and she is 37.5% Pomeranian, 12.5% Chinese Crested, 12.5% American Eskimo, 12.5% Chihuahua and 25% Even-the-DNA-people-have-no-idea. Bristol weighs 12 lbs and is approximately 8 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and free of parasites. She has had a dental cleaning with extractions and senior labwork. She does take a (cheap) thyroid pill once a day ($50/year) and we would like to send her home with a year's supply and hopefully donors like you can help us make that happen. Bristol is very shy and seems to prefer women to men. That doesn't mean she can't have a daddy, but he just has to be willing to work hard to win her over. For now, we would recommend that she not go to a home with small children as they would probably scare her. However, we do not have absolute rules on children as all children are different and are open to hearing how you would make it work. Shy dogs benefit from learning commands and being rewarded for performing them. So, we will reimburse an adopter for taking her through an obedience class to build her confidence and depending on where you live there are even classes specifically for shy dogs. Bristol is leash, crate and housetrained. She gets along well with dogs and did not bother the cats in our vet clinic. She appears to be low or no shedding and would need regular grooming appointments (she has one scheduled)! She qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program where dogs aged 5+ can be adopted to people 55+ for a $5 adoption fee (application required and normal adoption criteria apply). To make a tax-deductible donation towards Bristol's thyroid meds ($50), training classes ($250), grooming appointment ($50), DNA test ($75) or her general and medical care while in our rescue ($500) please do so online at .paypal.me/UOH or email us for a physical address to send a check.
