Biscuit is a big, beautiful baby! He combines the best traits of the Great Pyrenees with (probably) English Setter or Collie. He is a 65 pound bundle of love and licks. At just 5 years of age, Biscuit is very healthy and extremely well behaved. He is fixed, fully vaccinated, house trained, crate trained, leash trained and obedience trained. Biscuit’s owners love him so much, but unfortunately are not able to give him the environment in which he feels comfortable. He has some anxiety around small children, and usually likes to get to know new people well before they pet or interact with him. This fear sometimes causes him to nip unfamiliar folks who try to pet him without his consent. With so many children in their busy neighborhood, his owners fear that he will inadvertently nip someone. When in his happy zone, there is no more loving a dog than Biscuit. He is a snuggle bunny and lets you know just how much he cherishes you constantly. He is an absolutely fabulous companion. Biscuit is looking for his forever home. His ideal home will be with homeowners who have a large, securely fenced yard. A quiet, country setting would be even better. Respectful older children would be alright, and Biscuit is great around other dogs. Above all, he needs a home with owners who will love him unconditionally, and be patient and pro-active as regards his anxiety around little kids and strangers. This is one very special dog looking for an equally special home. He will be rehomed with all supplies and vet records. If you have the type of home in which Biscuit will do well, please get in touch today. He is prepared to relocate for the right home, providing his new owners will come and meet him and his family.

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Great with children and awesome with cats, Chloe is a sweet 4 year old female brindle and white Labrador Retriever Cane Corso mix dog looking for a new home in Mississauga, Ontario and area. This pretty and very devoted dog is 4 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and house broken. She walks well on a leash, and has also undergone obedience training. Chloe is an angel with paws!Chloe - Cane Corso Labrador Retriever Mix Dog For Adoption in Ontario 2 Chloe recently had a seizure out of the blue. Her veterinarian diagnosed her with Epilepsy, and has placed her on a pill she takes twice a day at 12 hour intervals, which should keep her happy and healthy throughout her life. The medication she is on is inexpensive and easy to give to her. Chloe’s owner is faced with the difficult choice of having to find Chloe a good home. She loves this beautiful dog very much, but increasing hours at work (and commuting to and from) make it difficult to provide Chloe with the companionship, exercise and playtime she needs and deserves. Complicating things, Chloe is starting to have separation anxiety. She really does not like spending her days alone. Chloe - Cane Corso Labrador Retriever Mix Dog For Adoption in Ontario 2 Chloe would do very will in a loving home with owners who can spend more time with her. She is a well mannered dog, and would be the ideal fit for retired dog lovers with a securely fenced yard. She enjoys taking a walk every day, but is also content chasing a ball in the back yard. Her true need is human companionship. This is a dog that gives back far more than she gets. If you are interested in offering Chloe her forever home, please contact us. We will be happy to speak with you, and help you decide if Chloe is the right fit for you. We ask potential adopters to fill out our online meeting request form, and we will have the owner call you to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet. Thanks for your interest in Chloe.
