May is a beautiful, but lonely German Shepherd Dog to Adopt in Escondido CA May is a gorgeous 2 year old black and sable German Shepherd dog for adoption in Escondido, near San Diego, CA. May is good with cats and other dogs. She has not been around children, but her breed is among the best breeds of dog for respectful children. German Shepherds are loyal, devoted, affectionate and very intelligent. May has been lovingly cared for by her owner, a single working man. He loves her very much, but has come to realize that living in an apartment and staying home alone all day while he works is not the best situation for May. He worries that she is depressed and sad being alone all day, and that she needs more exercise, space and companionship than he can give her. May is looking for the best home ever. She needs a family with lots of time to spend with her, a house with a large, securely fenced yard, and the commitment to provide May with the happiest forever home a German Shepherd could ask for. May is in excellent health, and is spayed, up to date on shots and micro-chipped. If you have room in your heart and home for May the German Shepherd, please offer her a loving home today. There is a $300 adoption fee. May will be rehomed with all supplies and veterinary records. Questions about May? Contact our San Diego dog rehoming team. Text May to (888) 833-2128 or email Maydog-lover.us. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 11.4 mi from Escondido
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsdgmail) for more information about this pet. Ollie has a sad story to tell. He was returned to us after his owner was no longer able to care of him. Poor Ollie had been fending for himself for quite some time, with just a few neighbors and family looking in on him. Once back with Coastal, he was very happy to be welcomed back by familiar friends. He would do best with a quiet, low-traffic home experienced with the breed. Ollie would love a forever home that will provide the structure, love and that secure feeling that GSDs crave. In return he will give you kisses and his unconditional love. Please visit .coastalgsrsd/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at informationcoastalgsrsd or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Breed: German Shepherd Dog

    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 11.4 mi from Escondido
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsdgmail) for more information about this pet. Misty is one of the sweetest girls to ever come into rescue. She was rescued from a shelter in Riverside in June 2018. Soon after, we noticed a lack of appetite and low energy level for a puppy of about 6 months of age. Three weeks later, she was in a hospital, fighting for her life. She had severe pneumonia and wouldn’t eat or drink. A few vets recommended euthanasia. But they didn’t know Misty, and she is a fighter. Eventually she was diagnosed with Distemper. The next 4 months were a testimony to this girl’s courageous spirit and will to live. She went through almost all the phases of this horrible disease that affects most of the systems in the body. She was determined to live, and she inspired us to keep her strong. Misty had a lot of love and support behind her, with homemade meals, fresh goats milk, vet specialists and many many prayers. Slowly but surely she made it through. Today Misty is a survivor! She still has some neurological symptoms, like involuntary muscle spasms on the right side of her body. She takes a low dose of phenobarbital to keep her free of seizures. The tremors are more noticeable when she is sleeping but does not cause her any pain. She can play, eat, walk and be a puppy without limitations. Misty loves the company of other dogs, and will play with any and all of them all day long. Her foster brother Ryan is her best buddy. She still has plenty of puppy mischief in her, so watch out for your favorite pair of flip flops! Misty isn’t looking for sympathy; she doesn’t want any pity. She just wants a yard with toys, a soft bed, one (or two) doggie playmates and a special family with a little extra love and care on the side. Do you have the perfect home for Misty? Please visit .coastalgsrsd/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsdgmail) for more information about this pet. Jett came to us with an open oozing sore on a foot that was swollen more than three times its normal size, scars wrapping around his foot and leg bearing witness to the pain he must have endured having something wrapped around his foot and leg for so long and so tightly that it broke two toes, caused a bone infection and severe swelling and required treatment for more than a year to heal. Fast forward to today, Jett could be a backup dancer for Pharrell’s song “Happy”. He is a big, goofy, happy boy that enjoys life. He would love an active family, no little children, please. If you’re a runner, Jett could be your best friend. If you know how to throw a ball, Jett could be your best friend. He will even bring it back to you. Of course, when he brings it back, he shakes it back and forth and invites you to play a different game, one of chase. Game on. He loves other dogs, but can sometimes forget how big he is, so he needs to continue to work on his play style. His perfect home would be a home where his partner works from home, loves to watch movies with his best friend by his feet, doesn’t mind a wet sloppy kiss or a big head laying in your lap, likes to go on long walks or runs and loves to have fun, all tempered with, most importantly, leadership, guidance and some boundaries and continued training. Despite his size, he does like to cuddle too. Please visit .coastalgsrsd/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. Zhoey

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 11.4 mi from Escondido
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Zhoey came to us from an owner who had no idea how to help her. When she went to her foster home, the skin on her belly was like leather. Her issue was allergies. They caused itching so bad that she was missing fur. She had never been socialized with other dogs, but she quickly learned that her four-legged foster brothers could protect her and teach her. They taught her that the vacuum wasn’t so scary and that the dogs she encountered on her walks weren’t all so bad. Zhoey has come a long way too with her allergies. She is on a special diet and taking medication, but now her fur is the softest and shiniest, with no more bald patches. She is a beauty. She gets regular baths and never gives her foster a hard time. She loves to prance around after every bath letting her foster brothers know she smells oh so much better than they do. Maybe they can be next. Did we say that Zhoey’s come a long way? Oh, yes. Her buddies taught her that it was okay to be in the big world and that it is fun to play, and that is what she loves to do. Zhoey is a super high-energy dog that loves to run and play with her dog friends. She can do laps through the gardens, around the fruit trees, as fast as the fastest. She can wear the fastest out, but when they’re done, she will happily move on to her next friend. She also loves and very much respects her 11-year-old “mama dog” and mentor. She loves to follow her around, probably learning new things with every step of the way. Like some dogs who have gone through their own issues, Zhoey is very empathic to those around her. She looks into your eyes with those beautiful sweet brown eyes like she knows that you are in pain and would gladly lay her head down on your knee just to be able to could help you like she was helped before. Zhoey is a special girl who can make you laugh when you need it, give you a wet sloppy kiss when you need it, and just be by your side when you need it. If Zhoey could make her dream list for her future home, it would, of course, include a family that will take care of her forever, but also she would love some four-legged canine friends to play with. After all, not many humans can keep up with her puppy energy. She would love a big yard to run and play with her friends in too, and if there are lizards and squirrels, oh, that would be so much fun. She’ll make sure she keeps your garden safe from them. Please visit .coastalgsrsd/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. Kona loved his family. Adopted as a puppy 7 years ago, he was the alpha dog and the center of their universe. Then one day a new baby came home and everything changed. His other canine siblings didn’t seem to mind the new family member but Kona just couldn’t understand. Now Kona is hoping for a new home this year. A family that will give him all the love and attention, but also set rule and boundaries. He is an alpha male but he needs a leader to guide him like any GSD. Kona is good with other respectful dogs given a proper introduction. Older dog-savvy children (7+) are fine too but no little ones please. He loves to swim in the pool, play with toys and hang in his crate. He is a smart boy who quickly learns new things, and is used to having his people around most of the day. Car rides to explore new places would be fun too. Is Kona the companion for you? Please visit .coastalgsrsd/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions.
