    Breed: Jack-A-Bee
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Phoebe Snow is a sweet older lady (10 1/2 yrs) that is looking for a place to hang up her "home sweet home" sign and be your BFF. She is house trained, knows basic commands and loves children. She will chase cats and will sometimes quarrel with other female dogs but other than that she's pretty peace loving. If you have a soft spot in your heart for a pup that has lost her Daddy please fill out an adoption application on our website and we'll hook you up for a meet and greet. Where else could you find a spayed dog, current on their shots for $60? Owner's widow doesn't feel she can give her the time and love that she got from him.

Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.** Sweet Dora is an 8 year old JRT/Beagle mix. Dora is an absolute sweetheart! While she can be initially shy, Dora warms up quickly and becomes quite the love bug. She loves going on walks, playing with her toys, and snuggling with her human. Dora is good with other dogs, though large dogs scare her, so a home with dogs her size or smaller is ideal. She would also be content as an only dog and the sole recipient of all the love and attention. Dora doesn't mind cats but will try to play with them. She is a very sweet, curious, fun-loving gal who will make a wonderful family member. She is house trained, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives and eager to find a family to love! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** To complete an online application, please click here and call Diane at 703-618-2502. Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, April 21st from 12-4pm and Sunday, April 22nd from 12-3pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-4pm on Sat. April 7th & 12-3pm on Sun. April 8th or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.) Love is 1 year old JRT mix who may have a little Beagle in him. He needs that soft, gentle, loving new owner that will just open his/her heart and welcome him in. He was initially shy when meeting folks for the first time but then he began to show a very different side. He settled into his new foster home very easily. He made friends with the 11 year old boy and they are thick as thieves now. Love will be perfect for the right home. He needs a home that is confident and can help him build his confidence. We all thought he might do best with another dog and then in his new foster home he's proven that he doesn't need another dog to blossom. He's doing it all on his own! Here's an update from Love's foster! "Love is very affectionate and cuddly. He loves to cuddle on my lap. He often follows me around the house everywhere I go. He is also very playful and can play for long periods of time. He likes to play fetch with a small ball or with his plush toys. He sometimes likes to take the toy and just chew on it for a bit. When I am working during the day, Love stays in the x-pen with a fluffly bed, toys, water, and a wee-wee pad. I frequently check on Love using my home's security camera. Love does not bark at all during the day when left home alone. He basically seems to be sleeping and resting all day. Love does not use the wee-wee pad. Love has only gone to the bathroom outside. Love has not had any potty accidents in the house. On the first day I brought Love home I noticed during our walk that he really likes to run. On about day three of having Love I got on my bike to give Love the opportunity to run since I am not a runner. Love loves to run! He ran and ran and ran. He sometimes would run so fast that I could not bike as fast as he could run therefore Love would have to slow down some to wait for me.I have taken Love out for a run on my bike every single day since and I noticed that he barked less in the home when he was taken on runs. As soon as Love sees me put on my bike helmet, he gets very excited. At night I put the fluffly bed in the crate and have Love sleep in the crate. The first few nights he cried for about twenty minutes but now he no longer cries when I crate him at night." Love was a part of the Seven Virtues who we rescued from a terrible hoarding situation, one of the worst we’ve seen in our almost twenty years of rescue. The hoarders reached out to us and begged us to come take their dogs. When we arrived, we realized we didn’t have the capacity to take all 30-40 of them into our rescue and we called Animal Control to contact other rescues to come help with the rest. Love will need a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years (owned personally not a parent's or roommates dog and not petsitting a dog). He is an option for a home that is gone during the day- he's cool with staying home alone. If there are children they will need to be 10 years old and be very dog savvy. They will need to be the kind of kids who have grown up with dogs their whole life. **Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

    Bennet

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-A-Bee
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). If you have a soft spot for sweet and shy dogs with a little bit of scruff, we have got just the pup for you! This is Bennet, the 1-year-old Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix whom we rescued from a kill shelter in Riverside County. Bennet is an incredibly sweet, mellow, docile, lowkey, and gentle pup who requires a bit of time to warm up. He is fantastic with all dogs and cats of various shapes and sizes. He is a very low-maintenance sort of fella. On most days, you can find him curled up in a cozy ball napping on various plush surfaces. Bennet was initially very scared of leash walking, and did not quite get the concept. One of our volunteers took Bennet home for a mini staycation, and he had leash walks figured out by the end of the weekend! Bennet is the type of pup who will take a little love and patience to help guide him out of his shell. He is a sweetheart who takes treats very gently, and will settle and cuddle up with you after he has had a chance to get used to his surroundings. Weighing all of 15 pounds, Bennet is a great size for virtually any-sized home! If you'd like to meet Bennet, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adopt.

    Otis-PENDING...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-A-Bee
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application. OTIS HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. Otis is an energetic 1.5 year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix who came to us from a rural county dog shelter after having been rescued from a deplorable situation. Someone in a rural area had many dogs who were living in small dilapidated sheds or rabbit-hutch type outdoor dwellings. Fortunately, the shelter convinced the owner to relinquish some of the dogs so they would have a chance at a happy life. In spite of having come from horrible living conditions, Otis is a happy, friendly dog who is very grateful for the second chance he’s been given. He is shy when meeting new people and in new situations but once he gains confidence and feels secure, he is ready to have fun. Otis loves to play and wrestle so we do want to place him in a home with another dog to play with. Otis also has issues with separation anxiety so he needs to be in a home where people are not gone all day, every day. He has gotten along very well with the other dogs in his foster home. Otis does well with crate-training in his foster home at night. He can get distracted and more interested in play so his foster mom has to be sure to let him out or he sometimes has accidents in the house. Otis loves to give kisses to his human friends to show his appreciation for the second chance he’s been given. Otis weighs about 18 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Otis. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Otis and to submit an online application.
