He’s a big hearted sweet guy approximately 5 years old. He's very energetic but loves to cuddle, and if you like kisses he’s your man! We believe he was kept outside most of his life so he is appreciative to be inside with his people and tends to be a little protective. Posted Breed: Rottweiler (short coat). Please contact SSRR (Adoptionssouthernstatesrescuedrottweilers) for more information about this pet. SSRR provides FREE transport to our approved adopters Hi everyone! My name is Crystal. If you like Rottweiler looks but in a smaller package, I'm your girl ! I'm what's called a velcro dog. I love my people and want to be with them all the time. I just love to be petted and loved on. If you sit down, I'll put my paws in your lap so I can get some loving. My foster mom says I'm a really sweet girl. But I'm not always so great around smaller dogs. Foster mom says I'm just a bit too interested in them!!! And we've only been around cats while they were in travel crates at the vet. I'm really more interested in people than other pups or kitties. But my foster mom says I am making progress with getting along with my foster brother and sisters. We're also working on my leash-training and my house-training right now and I'm making good progress there too. I came to the rescue with heartworms. But foster mom took me to the vet in July and they are making me all better. I'm still in recovery from my treatment but as soon as I'm all well, foster mom will take me to be spayed. I'm not sure what that means, but I trust that foster mom is doing what is best for me! And she says I'll be all ready for my forever home after that! Special thanks to Connie Collum of Connie Collum Photography for these wonderful photos of Crystal. Please click on the image below to go to Connie's website. Posted Breed: Rottweiler. Please contact SSRR (Adoptionssouthernstatesrescuedrottweilers) for more information about this pet. SSRR provides FREE transport to our approved adopters Bobo is a goofy dog who loves to play fetch and LOVES attention, despite having had a pretty rough past, spending several months chained to a dog house in a back yard. Before coming to SSRR, Bobo also endured years of a painful eye condition (entropion) as well as being heartworm positive. In his first weeks of being in the care of SSRR, Bobo was neutered and had his eye condition corrected. He is now a much happier dog who can more easily see to play fetch. Bobo still has a ways to go but he's got the basics down! He will sit, lay down, and shake/give paw on command. He's still working on refreshing other manners like walking nicely on a leash, drop it/leave it and to go in his crate on command. Loving attention, Bobo had no concept of personal space. Sounds endearing that he would try to jump in your lap for some head rubs but, at 100 pounds, it can be a bit much. He was quite the jumper at first, but he's learning he gets far more attention when he sits and doesn't have to be told to get "down". Bobo would do best in a home with no small children, as he still doesn't have a great understanding of his big size. He also can't handle cats yet, as friends anyway. Because of his surgeries and healing, Bobo has not yet been introduced to other dogs. Although it was mentioned he had no issues with other dogs when he was younger, it's not fully known how we would fair with dogs currently. Bobo still has to complete his heartworm treatment, but he is well on his way to be a great dog. Step 1: Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED Step 2: Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days). He has showed some peculiar behavior around other dogs that seems to come from fear not aggression. He is a big baby and a little on the scaredy cat side, but not aggressive when scared. He tries to run away. Gus enjoys smelling flowers and trying to chase and catch bees and horseflies. He is a real talker especially when he wants or has to go out and will even try to open the door by putting the doorknob in his mouth. Posted Breed: Rottweiler (short coat). Please contact SSRR (Adoptionssouthernstatesrescuedrottweilers) for more information about this pet. SSRR provides FREE transport to our approved adopters Carlie is not available for adoption at this time. Meet Carlie. Formerly known as Violet, Carlie was confiscated from her owners in February. She was chained outside in an area of nothing but dirt and no protection from the elements. She was living in LA at the time. She was soaking wet and freezing when animal control came to pick her up. Once released off the chain, she collapsed in the arms of the officer. Carlie spent some time in LA with one of SSRR's Board Members until she was well enough to travel to her foster home in Florida. We were shocked at all the issues she had at her first vet visit. Due to her lack of care, she was anemic, full of various types of worms, coccidia and heartworm positive plus had an infection in both eyes. She weighed in at a mere 54 pounds. She was so weak, she could barely stand up by herself. In March, her foster Mom drove to MS and met her short term foster and drove Carlie to FL. Fast forward to April, she is up to 78 pounds, intestinal worm free and will begin heartworm treatment in early June. Once her treatment is completed, she will then be spayed and have her teeth cleaned. She is a super sweet girl, with a little bit of fluff to her fur, who absolutely LOVES being with her people. She currently lives with 3 others rottweilers, a great dane , a medium size mixed breed and 6 cats!! Once she is ready for adoption, she would do best in a one-story home. Again, due to her neglect, she is visually and hearing impaired. She can see, but mostly right in front of her. Her hearing is limited, as well. But, do not let that deter you from giving this amazing dog a home. Opening up your home and heart to Carlie, will return back to you tenfold!! Carlie has a fundraiser for her medical needs. If you are able to help with Carlie's medical fund in any way, SSRR (and Carlie) will be very appreciative. Any amount, no matter how small, will help. The small donations add up quickly. SSRR provides FREE transport to our approved adopters Rose was picked up by an animal control officer in Virginia while she was wandering the streets. She was shy and withdrawn from some people, but after a few minutes of meeting her at the shelter, she was in my lap. It was obvious that she was young, our vet estimates her at about 2 years old, possibly had a litter and needed medical attention for her eyes. Her eye surgery went great and her spay gave us a surprise. She had pyromtera, if left untreated, that alone could have been the end of this sweet girl. She recovered extremely well and we soon began to see the "real Rose" out of the shelter, in a home and recovered. She's so sweet and pretty. She's young with so much to offer, like a Rose Bud that hasn't blossomed yet. She loves everything! Except cats, no cats for her! Want to walk, run, play fetch, go for a drive? She's your girl! Want to relax and read a book? She'll put her head in your lap. Want to watch a movie? She'll lay on the couch and snuggle. Oh, she loves her snuggles and cuddles! Bedtime? Sometimes she'll slip in the bed and I let her. She wants belly rubs before she goes to sleep. When the alarm goes off, it can go one of two ways. She might put a paw on you with a look that says "hit snooze, let's cuddle", or...she'll take all the covers off you! This smart girl has taken right to crate training. She walks well on a leash, some gentle reinforcement to keep her on track and she's right there. Knows all basic commands including sit, lay down, stay, come, fetch, give paw and she even gives hugs!! She's a rather petite little thing, so I don't mind the hugs and she's very gentle. She wants to play with every dog she meets and shows no aggression (except those pesky felines). She's also very submissive to my other female and male. For a Rottie, she may be small but she thinks she is mighty! She is the only one that barks when there's a stranger at the door and she sounds so fierce and is so little, it's adorable! She also does the Rottie lean, but unlike my other Rottie at almost twice her size, her lean doesn't almost knock me down. She's beautiful, smart, loving and as loyal as any Rottie twice her size!
