    Taylor

    rescue
    Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu / Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie. Are you looking for a dog who has a lot of personality in a little body? Taylor is a 36-pound pup who has it all! He’s very handsome, playful, athletic, happy-go-lucky pup who is pretty happy all of the time! Taylor has great social and play skills with other dogs; he could possibly be a little too active for other dogs who are skittish or unsure around other dogs, but with a meet and greet, it would be easy to tell if the two will get along. Taylor is learning to walk nicely on a leash and not to barge through doorways. This little guy is beyond adorable and will make a wonderful companion for someone or a family who is active and enjoys the company of a happy dog. Taylor is a male, neutered, ten month old Shiba/Sheltie mix available for adoption. Taylor is available for adoption through Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter. Please contact fobcasfriendsgmail if you have any further questions.

Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). Please contact Masako (saveshibasgmail) for more information about this pet. Young Male Shiba Inu Courtesy posting for a young male Cream Shiba that is looking for an experienced home. "Hiro" is 3 years old, neutered and well socialized as a puppy - often taken to work with the owner, frequented dog parks and doggy daycares. More recently, once the wife became pregnant, they have noticed a few behavioral concerns and are now looking to rehome their dog. He has always shown aggression towards the cat when it came to feeding. Otherwise, he is friendly to other dogs and has been good at doggy daycare and dog parks. However, more recently, there was an incident when the neighbor brought over a stray dog and Hiro - was about 5 feet away but barking madly. Since this incident, there was a nipping incident to the same neighbor (this neighbor was a family friend that would often walk Hiro with her own dog). She had leaned over him to give him a pet and he was initially enjoying it, but then suddenly started to nip her in the face. They just had their baby and are overwhelmed with taking care of the baby - and need to find him a new home. He is a handsome dog and very bright. He could definitely use more exercise and stimulation - longer walks, hikes, etc. He is currently being worked on with a muzzle around strangers, and will need to be managed (crated or secured) when visitors are over. If you have experience or can manage a dog such as Hiro, please contact us. The Shiba-Inu is a primitive breed, and a living national monument in their native Japan. They are not very affectionate dogs, but are extremely loyal to their family/owner. Similar to the Japanese Akita because of their appearance and fierce loyalty, Shiba-Inus are a great breed to adopt because they are small-sized dogs that are smart and loyal. They are also known to be escape artists and door-bolters. Adopters who have previously owned or are accustomed to this breed will be considered. If you can provide our fostered Shiba a loving forever home, please complete an application: savingshibasinc/pages/adopt **All Saving Shibas Inc dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be a part of their family and must be allowed inside—especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a “tie-out” or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced yard. **All Saving Shibas Inc dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to adoption. **Available pets maybe visited via appointment with foster. INARI

    Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). MEET INARI! An ancient Japanese breed, this little red-fox-like Shiba Inu is named for Inari, the Japanese spirit of the fox. Typical of her breed, she’s a spirited girl, good-natured, and alert. A sturdy, well-muscled little foxlike dog, she prances about on her agile legs and loves running to fetch a ball, especially a squeaky, bouncy ball. An energetic little girl, Inari loves to go for walks. She’s not a hyper dog but will need her daily exercise. Originally bred as hunters in the underbrush, Inari has keen senses and may alert you to what’s around the corner. Even though Inari lived with another dog in her former life, it must have been a contentious household because she does not like other dogs--especially if they attempt to play or invade her space. We want to place her in a home as the only dog. (And she's no cat lover either!) Inari lived a life of neglect in the past. But we’re making up for that by providing nutritious meals so she can reach her proper weight. And we’re medically treating her skin and coat which have suffered flea dermatitis and irritation. Eventually, her full and luscious coat will reemerge with just simple care and flea prevention. Inari is a 16-pound, spayed Shiba Inu, about 5 years old, fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, and housetrained.

    Aki

    Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). Please contact Masako (saveshibasgmail) for more information about this pet. Petite Shiba Inu This is Aki 秋 (or 'Autumn' in Japanese). We were contacted by the animal shelter in Wildomar, CA about this gal. She is a 3-5 yo female Shiba, a beautiful petite girl. She is dog friendly and great with kids. Shelter staff informed us that she is an escape artist, and does have “bad balance”. She had been adopted out originally in August - and had at that time, come in as a stray dog. She would often shake her ears and they found that there were fox tails lodged there. She was adopted at the shelter and three months later, she was back again. This time, they contacted the adopters and found that this gal is quite the escape artist (all Shibas are), and door bolter. They were having trouble keeping her contained so they told the shelter that they won't be coming back to get her. She was checked out by our orthopedic vet - as she was reported to easily lose her balance (and fall), she also seems to have trouble standing in the car (we recommend a crate to transport her). Initial vet diagnosis is that she suffered a herniated disc injury - so we have her on limited activity. For this reason, we recommend that the adopting owner know how to train her NOT to jump or climb, and keep her active with frequently walks or hikes. Since her initial treatment, she is doing much better. Her back is no longer hunched and she's no longer on anti-inflammatory medication. However, her balance and coordination is still not ideal. We have since seen a Neuro-specialist and her MRI came back normal. We are currently treating her for a heart condition to see if this is the cause of her balance issues. The good news is that she is super sweet, and great with other dogs and good with children. The bad news is that she seems to have learned some bad habits - she needs rework on potty training, needs to stop climbing fences, needs to stop digging out of yards - and needs a home that will work on correcting that behavior. We believe that if she is with an active home and has both physical and mental stimulation, a lot of her bad habits can be corrected. (Previous family stated that she ran out, dug out from the yard, soiled her crate, and bit through leashes when tethered). If you are an active person - enjoy hiking, and long walks, are able to take a dog to work or work from home (or even retired), Aki would make a great addition to your family. Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). Okaeri (FKA Fancy) is a 6-7 year old gorgeous Shiba Inu who has a tough history. Our shelter received calls about seeing a dog in the woods for over a year. Each time we went to look we saw nothing. We did finally spot her lounging by the Raritan River, but we couldn't even get within 100 yards before she bolted. We kept setting dog traps in different locations but never had any luck. Finally, a resident kept seeing her in their yard. They allowed us to set the trap there. After several days, she went in! Through her microchip, we were able to contact her family who told us she had been missing for almost two years! They couldn't believe she was alive. They had adopted her and only had her for a year. She had run away multiple times, but they always found her, until that last time. This sweet, quiet dog had been fending for herself in the woods the entire time. The family decided they could not give her the kind of home she needed, so they allowed us to keep her and give her the help she needed. We took her immediately to Somerset Vet Group for a thorough exam. While she had a minor injury and some tick born diseases, overall she was physically ok. Her emotional state was not as good. She was fearful and painfully shy. No wonder given the two years she spent alone. We were able to find an amazing foster home for her with a professional trainer who also has Shiba Inu experience. During her months in foster care, she has started to regain a fun and playful side. She absolutely loves to be around other dogs, and will do best in an dog saavy, experienced home with other dogs. Okaeri is still a flight risk, so a secure fenced in yard is a must. If you would like to learn more about Okaeri, stop by the shelter or give us a call. She is an amazing dog who deserves a new beginning!

I’m so chill (and hip for using that word!), laid back, and easy going. I’m just a sweet non-confrontational gal. Not that I wouldn’t defend myself, mind you, but I don’t look for trouble. I am still a bit wary of humans, but overall I’m friendly. I have a playful side. I’ll try to tinker with the solar water fountain floating in the pond in my backyard. I even frolic with cat toys! I’ve even been known to pounce on a Nylabone. I sure do love all store bought treats, but don’t try produce like apples or carrots on me. I am potty trained, but I will have to go out about every 4 or so hours. When I’m ready to go out, I need to go out immediately. I’ve been holding it for a while you know. I’m also crate trained but prefer to be around others. If I’m in a kennel all alone where I cannot see my foster brothers and sisters, I tend to be pretty loud. I do walk on a leash occasionally but not every day. I am learning commands for ‘kennel’ and ‘outside’. So, I’ve hung with other dogs and mostly just ignore them. I pretty much ignore other cats too, so I do not take any cues from them either. Although I mostly ignore the others, I do need another dog in my furever home. I really do not like to be alone. I’m fairly quiet; I rarely bark. Oh, I did bark to warn a dog off my chow once and I will howl in the car or in the kennel. I guess I’ve made some occasional yelps. Still, like I said before, I’m chill. I’ve been told that I have potential. That sounds promising. I’m confident that I’ll find my perfect furever home too! Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. He was born and raised in a commercial kennel, where he was used as a stud dog, then consigned to a dog breeder auction. He didn't get any bids, and so he came into rescue. He is a friendly little dog who weighs just under 17 pounds. He is very dominant with other dogs, and he has not been cat-tested. Because he has spent all of his life as a kennel dog, he will need an experienced adopter to teach him how to be a house dog. His adoption fee is $50.00

She is a complete cuddle bug who loves to give kisses and gets along with every dog, cat, and human who crosses her path. Leona loves toys -shredding them apart is her idea of a great time. And while she's a little hesitant to take treats from the hand, she can't resist a piece of cheese. She'll show off her voice with the classic Shiba howl when excited, but otherwise is very laid back. Leona is crate trained and does a great job in the kennel during the day. She loves to get outside and let loose in the fenced-yard when her foster family gets home from work. Leona is almost potty trained and is doing great on a schedule; she even knows the command for 'outdoors.' Leash training is a work in progress, though she definitely prefers the freedom of a fenced yard. She doesn't need another dog in her forever home, but she would fit right in with any fur-siblings. Leona has an ulcer on one eye, which requires eye drops, but she doesn't let that slow her down. If you're looking for an extra friendly, snuggly dog for your home, Leona might be the perfect fit. Posted Breed: Shiba Inu / Shepherd (short coat). Please contact ADOPTION (adoptdoggieharmony) for more information about this pet. Hi. My name is Ellis and I am a well behaved boy with lots of love to give. I LOVE to play with other dogs as you can see on my video .youtube/watch?v=iNEjJM3btC8I I In fact, I really need a doggie playmate. I currently have one in my foster home and we love to play in the back yard. Her name is Betty. Perhaps IF you are interested in adopting two dogs, you may want to consider her too. We are not bonded so I can be adopted alone. I just need a buddy to play with. I am currently in a foster home but need to move on to my forever, loving home. My foster says I am super intelligent and very intuitive as well. I’m learning tricks really easily and will work for treats – see my video .youtube/watch?v=TbWH9c0ocaw On this next video you will see that I am a loving soul and I’m told I’m quite the looker .youtube/watch?v=Dl8sOwJt8nk I am between 4 - 5 years old (so much has happened, I can’t remember my actual birthday) and I only weigh about 47 lbs so a great size. I don’t like to share my belongings (toys, food, rawhides) so I shouldn’t be left unsupervised with those items around YOUNG CHILDREN for that reason. I am very food motivated and am eager to learn new commands. I’m a very goofy, fun loving guy and would do best with a patient family who is willing to work on my resource guarding. So this is my wish list: I am looking for a family who will work with me, in a gentle and positive way, to overcome these issues. My foster has been doing this and I am really doing well. I need a doggy playmate and an active owner too. I adore hikes, car rides, sunsets and movie night on the sofa (popcorn is option). I also wish for a big juicy steak every day (Ok, I thought I would sneak that in, but it’s not necessary ) ☺. I promise to be a loving companion, with kindness from you, and I will do my best to be a great student and fast learner. I appreciate your consideration, I won’t disappoint you. I am heartworm negative, neutered AND UP TO DATE WITH ALL MY SHOTS . Please contact my foster for details – email; virginaz3gmail call OR TEXT 770-714-7790 This adoptable is not a Doggie Harmony animal, but a courtesy listing on behalf of the volunteer/rescuer trying to save this dog's life. There will be a fee to reimburse for the cost of its vetting/care; it may vary by rescuer/animal. Additionally, you will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (bit.ly/DH-Adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.
