    Allie

    rescue
    Breed: Doberman Pinscher
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. My name is Allie and I am 2-3 years old. I was picked up as a stray so my history is not known. I can tell you that life was not easy for me before I came to rescue. I will go and hide if there are loud voices. In my past loud voices meant bad things! I love my foster mom and my canine sisters and brother. We play hard and often. I would be best in a home where I have a dog my own size or even bigger to play with. I would not get enough needed activity if I were an only dog. I need canine companions. I would be too rough for little dogs thus the reason for one my own size of bigger. I am crate trained and housebroken and am very loyal(although sometimes I can be a bit stubborn) and loving but my forever family will have to be patient with me when I transition from my foster home to theirs as it will take me some time to adjust. Because of things in my past, I size people up carefully before I dive in and totally trust them but when I give my heart and my trust I give it completely. Just give me time and patience to fit in. This is true of a lot of people when changes come, they need time and space to adjust and it is no different with me. If you invest in me you will get an unbelievable amount of love and joy back! I promise. Ask my foster mom, she knows! Please go to .doberescue-ne, review the adoption requirements and if you are interested and qualify please complete an application. All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note: In most cases we require a fenced yard. We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Elliot

    Breed: Doberman Pinscher
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. My name is Elliott and I am young 1 ½-2 years old by estimation for dogs do not count birthdays as humans do. I am young but I have lived lifetimes of awful things in my short time on earth. My scars tell the story of abuse and neglect and hunger but my heart tells the story of hope and belief that there are people in this world who will love me, for after all that has happened to me I still believe in and trust people. Until recently I wondered if my life was over because I was wandering and starving. It was cold out and I was hungry and I wondered if the steps I was taking were going to be my last. Still I held onto hope as I kept moving. A guardian angel beckoned and led me to a home nearby and much to my surprise and relief the people inside took me in and then worked to get me into rescue. I could not hear the voices of the angel or these people and I cannot hear the volunteers in the rescue because I am mostly deaf from repeated ear issues that were never attended to. It doesn’t matter now because I have been found and hope soars in my heart. I “hear” through the tender touch of people who do care and see their loving body language and the love in their eyes for me and I know that I have been spared for a special purpose. Someone needs me in their life. I will not dwell upon the past because for the first time since I was a tiny puppy snuggled against my mother my future is full of hope! Right now I am enjoying the warmth of being indoors, the softness of bedding, regular meals, the kind and tender touch of people and even exercise! I am the Christmas miracle, the little boy who was wandering and lost who kept seeking until an angel led me to help. I am so grateful for life and for those who helped give it to me: the people who took me in, the rescue volunteers, the veterinarian and staff and all of the people who give to the rescue to pay my bills and keep me going. How can I tell you all thank you? If you give money, prayers or encouragement to the rescue you are giving to me directly! There are so many good people in the world yet. My heart always told me so but now I know. For now I am working on getting some weight onto my starved body but I have dreams of my forever family. Someone who NEEDS me and understands Dobermans and deaf dogs. I was saved and live for a reason and I don’t intend to waste it. More will be posted about me. Please pray for me as I recover. If you would like to donate for my bills you can go to .doberescue-ne and make a Paypal donation or write a check to DRON and mail it to POB 390684, Omaha, NE 68139-0684. Breed: Doberman Pinscher

Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. My name is Chopper and I am a two year old red boy. I recently arrived in rescue after my family had a tragic change in their lives. It was very difficult to part of them but I know I must be positive and move forward, they would want that for me. I am a young male with lots of energy so a home where I get plenty of exercise would be great. I am good with other dogs and love meeting people as well. Cats are unknown. Due to my size and energy level, it is best that I not be placed in a home with little dogs. I would really love someone close to my size to play with. I am a big boy, and well, let’s just say it: I have HUGE feet. Everyone remarks that I do but I don’t care, I take it as a compliment. Having big feet can be a handy thing! Tank

    Breed: Doberman Pinscher
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. Hi! I’m Tank and appropriately named so. I am just around 8 months old and I am a big boy: big in stature, and big on love, big on having a good time because I am just a puppy! I don’t walk too badly on a leash and like to ride in the car and I do ride pretty well for being the fun loving boy that I am although I can’t promise I won’t make faces out the window at other drivers when my driver isn’t looking! I don’t know a lot, haven’t been taught but willing to learn. My new family will need to take me to school so I can work my wonderful Doberman mind. I guess one can’t play all of the time. I would do best with another dog close to my size who likes to play. No small dogs as I am too rough for them and no cats. I am a charmer. Hope someone picks me soon! If you read the adoption rules and qualify, you can apply for me at .doberescue-ne. Jack

    rescue
    Breed: Doberman Pinscher
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. My name is Jack and I am a big puppy 11 months old. I was found running the streets at 6 months of age and had to have an eye removed as it was deformed. I haven’t had a lot of training in my young life and not many people that I could count upon. Having one eye does change your outlook on life and your perception of things at times. I am a sweet boy with lots of energy to burn but not always so confident. I need a home that has good current Doberman experience, and that understands the mind and antics of adolescent Dobermans. I will also please need a confident leader who will lovingly and patiently work with me. Patience and consistency are so important when dealing with an adolescent! Taking me to obedience class that trains only in positive reinforcement will be required of my adopted family. I ride nicely in the car and don’t do too badly on leash so some of the foundation for training has been started. I really want to please if someone would just give me the chance, work with me and see it through. I would be best in a home with dogs that are close to my own size – no small dogs- I like to play and play hard! I also passed a cat test. If you are interested in me please go to .doberescue-ne and review the adoption area and rules. If you qualify please place an application for me. Thank you. All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). My name is Ace and I am approximately a year old. I am all puppy, full of joy, full of life and full of play! I like almost every dog I meet and when I meet them I want to play. I am young and haven’t had a lot of manners taught to me but I am willing to learn. I love to please! Because I was abandoned I am not always sure that it is ok to be left alone. The right family for me should have a dog that likes to play of course and they must have good patient and loving leadership skills as it will take time and patience to train me properly and mold me into the best boy ever. I am so ready to go there but I need the right place. Please go to .doberescue-ne, review the adoption rules, and if you qualify please fill out an application. Guinness *Mi...

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 6.2 mi from Omaha
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Adoption Fee: $125. German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (.heartlandgsrescue) "Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?" for additional information. Guinness is a calm and loving guy, and a sweet soft teddy bear! We rescued Guinness from a high kill shelter in CA, where he was running out of time due to lack of space. It was painfully obvious that Guiness had not had an easy life, as his coat was in poor condition, he had fly strike on his ears from being kept as a neglected, outdoor dog. Guinness couldn't be happier and more grateful to be in a loving foster home. He loves his people and is what you might call a "velcro dog." With good care and nutrition, he has transformed into a regal, majestic boy. He takes treats like a gentleman and gently tongues them out of your hand. He is crate-trained and potty-trained. He loves to play ball out in the yard and enjoys stuffed toys as well. Guiness will often choose to curl up on a blanket over his dog bed. He really enjoys car rides and outings. He knows "sit" and "kennel up." Guiness is a sweet guy who truly just wants to please his humans. Guiness prefers calm, mellow dogs, although he gets along with a sweet, submissive female in his foster home, who is teaching him how to play and be more laid back! Guiness would love to be an only dog, as he loves people best, and his favorite thing is to hang out with his humans. Guinness' minimum adoption fee is $125, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply. ADOPTING A SENIOR: Seniors have so much love and life in them, and bring much happiness to the wonderful families who adopt them. They are calmer, more mellow, require considerably less exercise, and are just as fun, loyal, and loving as younger dogs. Seniors are an excellent choice for first-time GSD owners or for anyone looking for a low-key, mellow companion! HUGS SENIOR REPEAT ADOPTER PROGRAM: When you adopt a HUGS senior, and later come back back to adopt another senior, you are eligible to pay a reduced senior adoption fee of $125. Thank you for loving these wonderful, very deserving dogs, as much as we do! Please review the information in the "About Us", "Important Considerations" and "Adopt" sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.

    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 7.6 mi from Omaha
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Oliver is about 1-2 years old. He is about 25 lbs, 18 inches tall and long. He learned the doggie door. Oliver is a SUPER sweet and SUPER smart dog!! I have no idea what he is... Terrier Mix? Springer Mix? Pointer Mix? I just call him Breed Adorable. He has a very strong prey drive and has worked very hard to learn how to leave the cat alone but the squirrels in the yard have been cussing at him from the tree tops. He picks up tricks and commands VERY fast!! It took just a few minutes to teach him Sit, Down, Off, Come, Shake and he's working on Stay. He's also learned to Fetch. He is a young and active dog. He would make a GREAT running or hiking partner. He does love to play and run around so he will need activity in his life to make sure all that energy gets expressed in healthy, happy ways. He rides in the car well and he gets along with EVERYONE (new people, kids and dogs and, eventually, cats). He loves to chew on bones, chase down stuffies, fight with his blanket and snuggle on the couch. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranaged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Toby is handsome scruff boy with wire hair. He is about 7 months old. Toby is about 40lbs. He was well loved but just too much for an apartment and someone working and going to school. He is a very playful boy so will need a yard and someone to play with him and continue training him. Toby would love a yard to run in. He does know some commands. He loves playing with other dogs (he use to go to doggie daycare). He is good with kids. His foster has kids all ages. He is sweet and lovable but again active. He loves a good toy and will defluff almost anything. He loves to play tug of war. He is kennel trained and will be vocal when he needs to go outside.
