    Sheila

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Sheila! This gorgeous girl is a 1 year old Lab and Shepherd mix. She loves meeting new people and basking in your attention. She is building her confidence and loves to play with dogs and toys...almost as much as she loves taking a nap by your side. She starts off a little shy, but warms up very quickly and continues to come out of her shell a little more each day. She is very responsive to redirection, but almost too much so and can be frightened if someone yells or moves too fast. Sheila is perfectly fine being left to roam around the house, rarely barks, and is not a chewer. She is used to having working parents and does fine without human company for 9 hours a day (with access to the backyard). Sheila loves to chew on toys and greet you at the door with a wagging tail and a toy in her mouth. She likes to cuddle on the couch, but seems to rather sleep on the ground next to the bed rather than with her people. She is very well behaved and sits patiently for food and attention. She is great with other dogs; she was submissive at first, but now instigates play time with her foster brother, but also is perceptive of other dogs' boundaries. She loves the beach and dog parks and is great both on and off leash. She doesn't appear to be prey driven. She can be a little mouthy at times and still needs to learn basic commands, which her foster thinks will be easy for her since she has good manners and a teachable disposition to begin with. Sheila is a great girl and ready for her forever home! This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in their current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and learn the rules of their new home.
