    Toula Teacup...

    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $550. Age: 1.5 Months (as of 1/16/18) Weight: 4.5-5 lbs (as of 1/16/18) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. A cup of tea and puppy cuddles - what could be more wonderful? Especially if the puppy happens to be Toula Teacup, one of the two Teacup sisters! These adorable little muffins appear to be a Terrier mix about a month and half old. They're oh-so-sweet and just love attention - they'll whine at you to ask for some petting. Thea has less white than her sister Toula, whose white is all dappled with gray spots. They're both beautiful! Being so young they will need to be house trained and learn to walk on a leash. Crate training is in progress. When they are loose in their caretaker's house they follow her around everywhere and love to explore. They have not been destructive. Obedience classes will be important for them for socialization with new dogs and new people, learning cool stuff, and for getting in some quality bonding time with their new humans. A fenced yard is the ideal, safe place for your puppy to play, but if that's not an option then daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park are the next best thing. Dogs of all ages benefit from mental stimulation, too - think puzzle toys and games. These pups are good with other dogs - Thea seems to be more dog-oriented, while Toula is more people-oriented and can be a bit of a goof. Children and cats are an unknown at this time. Toula LOVES toys - squeaky and chew, laptime, cuddling and being with her sister. They like to play bitey-mouth with each other. It takes a lot of time, patience, energy and love to bring up a puppy, but Toula Teacup knows that once she's in your arms, she'll be there with you forever! Fill out an application today and don't forget to put the kettle on for tea! The Teacup Sisters' Backstory: These two little girls were put in a box at the tender age of six weeks old, and put by someone's mailbox out in the country in Mississippi in early January. The owner of the home found them and took them to the local veterinary clinic, and asked them to take care of the puppies. They have begun the vetting process and we're so excited to have them as SOS puppies! Adoption Fee: $550 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

Posted Breed: Boston Terrier (short coat). Check out our website: http://fohari.org Adoption Application: http://fohari.org/aa Adoption donation $399 Located: Arkansas (transport to the northeast is included in donation) Pure Boston Terrier. AGE: 11 yrs young WEIGHT: Up to date on everything and fixed. This is Bo. He is 11 years old, but you couldn't tell by the way he acts! Bo is a puppy at heart. He wants to run around the yard, play with toys and never sit still! He is crate trained and I believe that with scheduled feedings and walks, he would have no accidents in the house. He is very dog friendly with our smaller dogs and loves to play, but he is just so energetic that he can be a bit much for some dogs. So I wouldn't recommend him with dogs who are not okay with his high level of energy. He doesn't even mind cats! I would not suggest having him around small kittens just to be on the safe side, but he has walked up to our cats calmly and after they hissed at him, he just turned and walked away every time. So, I firmly believe that he would be okay in a house with cats and/or smaller dogs. When crated, he is a perfect gentleman in the car. And while his leash manners could be improved, he has not been one to pull or behave improperly on a leash that I have noticed. He loves to smell everything and meet new people! All Bo wants is someone to love on him all day and take him on plenty of walks or play time in the backyard. He would be a great addition to a family/person who loves to go on walks or outings to the park! He dislikes being left alone and just wants to be with people. Mama Blue

    Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $425. Age: 3.5 Years (as of 1/28/18) Weight: 52.4 lbs (as of 1/11/18) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Mama Blue isn't blue as in sad, she's just got gorgeous blue eyes! This lovely lady was surrendered to the shelter last fall along with her three pups for unknown reasons. She was a wonderful mama and all her pups have since been adopted (they were the Stone litter: Amber, Jade and Ruby). Now it's Blue's turn! She appears to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix about three and a half years old. She's house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She's okay with dogs she knows, and can be a bit nervous with new dogs. She likes to play chase and do some rough wrestling, and is sure to let the others know what the boundaries are. She LOVES people of all ages and sizes. She sometimes forgets her manners and jumps up, but once you start petting her, she sits nicely and soaks up all the attention. She's got a head start on her commands: she knows "sit," "stay," "down," and "wait." She's smart, treat motivated and eager to please, so learning more cool stuff should be a breeze. She will climb a 5-foot fence if left outside unsupervised, so a taller fence is recommended if she'll have a fenced yard. If a yard isn't an option, then daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park will suit her just fine. Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation - think puzzle toys and games. Cats are a no-go with Blue - she will bark intensely at them and will chase if the opportunity arises. She rides calmly either tethered or loose in the car, and likes going to new places. She LOVES toys (squeaky and chew), playing fetch, laptime, going for walks, cratetime and meeting new people. She settles quickly after activity and is more than happy to be a couch potato. Mama Blue is dreaming of having her very own forever home where she can play or just laze around with her family. Could she be the missing piece to your family puzzle? Fill out an application today and make her dreams come true! Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. Adoption Fee: $425 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $550. Age: 4 Months (as of 1/25/18) Weight: 10 lbs (as of 1/15/18) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. A happy kinda hyper, that's me, Pearl Beauty! Don't you just love my name? I do! They're saying I'm a Terrier mix almost 4 months old. I'm probably not gonna be a very big dog - maybe a smallish kinda medium sized dog. I'm working on my house training - I do know how to use pee-pads. I'm crate trained and I can walk on a leash. I LOVE car rides! I get sooooo excited! Currently I ride in a crate. Know what else I LOVE? PEOPLE! And Squeaky toys, playing fetch (which I learned super quick), laptime and cuddling, going for walks, playgroup, chew toys, running, going places and meeting new people! Even though I can be hyper, I can settle down and chill, you know...like when you turn the lights off. I do like to please people, I respect commands and corrections, and I'm treat and toy motivated! I'm also smart so we're gonna have lots of fun taking obedience classes together. I can build my confidence and continue with my socialization, and you and me can get in some quality bonding time. I can't wait! I'm not a total barker, but when there's something to bark at, I will. I do great with other dogs - I like to play chase, rough wrestling and tug-of-war. There are some cats here, but they're old and they ignore me. There aren't any kids here, but there were some where I came from (see my backstory). I'd love to have a fenced yard 'cause that would be safest for me to play in, but if you don't have one then we can do lots of leash walks and trips to a dog park so I can run around off-leash. I also need my mind exercised so maybe we can get me some puzzle toys and we can play games! Sound like a plan? I know I'm young and bringing up a puppy can be tons of work, but you're gonna LOVE me soooo much that all that won't matter! Quick! Fill out an application now for me, Pearl Beauty! We 're gonna be soooo happy!!! Pearl's Backstory: She was found down the road from the shelter by a woman who observed the children across the street playing football with her - she was the football! The woman took her and told the parents that she was taking her and to try her if they wanted the dog back. Adoption Fee: $550 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Breed: Pomeranian-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pomeranian / Mixed. Kira Queen was dumped at a high kill shelter by her owners because she was "too old." PAWS loves all dogs especially the seniors and she quickly found herself as a PAWS girl thanks to our rescue partner in Texas. Kira is as sweet as they come! She loves everyone and still has a lot of pep in her step. Her foster mom says she is absolutely perfect! Kira is house trained and is doing great in her foster home. She does have slightly decreased hearing but otherwise is doing great! Kira deserves a loving home to live out her life and be cherished as the Queen she is! Name: Kira Sex: female Breed: Pomeranian Mix Age: 12 yr Weight: 14 lbs Spayed/Neutered: yes Vaccinations: Up to date Heartworm: negative Microchipped: will be prior to adoption BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Dogs: yes, this old girl still loves to play Cats: unknown Kids: Yes- she loves everyone Adoption Donation: 300.00 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in a specific dog, please fill out an application if you are interested in a dog. The number of individual inquiries is overwhelming and we are finding it difficult to respond to each one. We cannot guarantee you will receive a timely response. Paws New England is a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our dogs housed in one location - they are in foster homes both in New England and in our southern foster homes. If you're interested in a specific dog, please complete a short online application and you will receive a reply within 48 hours so you can ask questions. At present, if a dog is listed on our website, the dog is considered still available HOWEVER, may have applications that have come in before yours but it's still too early to know if any are a good match; therefore we encourage you to apply. NOTICE WITH REGARD TO LOCATION OF DOGS: Please note: Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a brick and mortar building to house the dogs we rescue. We have found that dogs in foster homes are much more adoptable because they have been observed in a home setting. Dogs listed with Paws New England typically reside in various locations throughout the south (primarily Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas) and New England (not necessarily in the state of Rhode Island). You will be notified by the adoption coordinator of the location of the dog you are interested in so you have the ability to decide whether to pursue adoption or not. Dogs transported to New England are done so at a fee of $150.00 paid directly to the transporting company by Paws New England; no additional transport costs are responsibility of adopter. This fee is included in the adoption donation. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your dog will help others in need. All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history. Paws New England abides by the dog importation regulations set forth in the states of MA, CT, NH and RI.

    Breed: Mutt

Posted Breed: Shepherd / Retriever / Mixed. FOSTER NEEDED OR FOSTER TO ADOPT??? Louie is a dog we've inherited - gladly. Louie came from a small rescue in Texas to a family here in New England - sadly, after only a few days, they've decided he's not a good match for their current dog - he plays a bit too rough for her and she's now afraid of him. Typically the only option would be for Louie to travel back to Texas but we don't want that to happen - going back to the south can often not end well although the rescue that had him loves him. We want to find a new home here in New England. He's a handsome boy, a shepherd mix - approx. 50 lbs of shiny black fur. His current family said he's a good boy - very loving with the humans, tail wagging. House trained and calms down when it comes time. We're getting more photos and a little more information but for now we are looking for a foster and/or adopter so we can move him from what must be a stressful situation for all concerned. For now, we are thinking a home without another dog as we can't test him with dogs other than the one he's in his current home with for now. He may enjoy being an only dog so we'd like to try that first for now. However an experienced dog owner that has experience introducing dogs would be fantastic as well.
