French Bulldog
Bouledogue Français, Frenchie
The French Bulldog is low key and enjoys lots of activity. He's well suited for either family living or attaching to just one special person. He can be a great watchdog, although will bark only when there is a real need.
Labrador Retriever
Labrador, Lab
The Labrador Retriever is probably America's favorite dog. He is playful (well into his adult years) and is often seen as a lifelong friend.
Dogo Argentino
The Dogo Argentino was originally bred by a doctor in Argentina for big game hunting and as a companion and protector. They are sometimes used for fighting and have gotten a bad reputation. They are banned in Britain.
Mutt
A mongrel, mixed-breed dog
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
Rottweiler
Rott, Rottie
The Rottweiler may seem aloof, but he is a brave and intelligent worker. He performs well in outdoor sports and is a faithful companion and guardian.
American Pit Bull Terrier
Pit Bull Terrier, Pitbull, Pit bull, Pit, Pit Terrier, Staffordshire Fighting Dog, Bull Baiter Dogs, Yankee Terrier, Rebel Terrier
The American Pit Bull was originally bred for dog fighting and gained a reputation as a vicious animal. Can be a loyal and affectionate pet when trained and socialized properly.
Great Dane
Deutsche Dogge, German Mastiff
The Great Dane is a huge dog with a sweet and gentle nature. He needs a lot of space for exercise, though he can be very calm and well-behaved indoors.
Pembroke Welsh Corgi-Unknown
This breed is a cross between an Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Unknown. This breed is a hybrid or designer breed that was developed by crossing Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Unknown. Though the breed was intended to be a 50/50 mix, many of the it are bred over many generations and may not always be 50% and 50%. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. We currently do not have more detailed information for this breed.
