She does great with everyone in her foster family. She has 3 little girls to spoil her and a foster doggie brother to play with and of course her sister Rayne, who is also up for adoption. There are some cats here too, Chrissy chases them more so out of curiosity. Chrissy learns very quick and is doing very well with her potty training. Her favorite pastimes are: Playing with the other dogs, chewing bones and squeaky toys, and snuggling up on a nice comfy blanket to nap, she isn't much of a lap dog but will lay down for a nice tummy rub. She sleeps through night in her crate. She doesn't mind being by herself outside and is the quiet one of the bunch. She LOVES walks and is working on leash manners. And she stays near her foster brother & sister at the doggie park. She is learning that baths are okay since half of her coat is white and gets muddy pretty quick because she loves to play outside - and well, spring in WI = muddy back yards & doggie parks means lots of baths! She will really make a great loving addition to her furever home. Posted Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hello! I am Brea and I am soo glad to be alive! I was found locked in a crate left outside in a drug user's back yard. He used me for breeding and sold my puppies for drug money. When he was done with me - he just put me in a crate to let me die. Fortunately, someone heard what he did and called some nice people to come and get me. I was in a very bad part of Chicago IL and they said I could have fallen into "bad hands" - not sure what that meant, but I am sure glad to be in a warm cozy home! I love everyone! I am good with other dogs and kids - but I would prefer a feline free home. I am learning so much stuff - it is so much fun! I do need some work, yet, but I would love a foster or forever home that would help me be a great family dog! Here are some things about me: She is really sweet Loves people and attention Loves other dogs Getting potty trained Still needs manners Will jump up on you She wants love and attention since she was deprived by being locked in a crate She just wants to be near her person all the time right now No cats -- But she would be good to have another dog so she can learn 1 to 1.5 years Still very young please contact Paws Up Pet Rescue if you are the right home for me - or you can foster me! I am ready to start my life! Her adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, rabies, dewormers, distempers and the confidence she was in a foster home so her personality can be shared to find the perfect forever home. Please fill out a non-binding application at our website pawsuppetrescue18.rescuegroups/ Thank you for choosing to adopt!

    NAVI - COMIN...

    rescue
    Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). I am Navi - I was found literally hanging from my collar over a fence in North Carolina. My collar was embedded so deep I needed surgery to have it removed. To make my life worse, I was pregnant and heartworm positive. I pretty much hit a low when I sat in a high kill shelter only to hear they were going to euthanize me and my babies because of space. I didnt have much hope and it showed in my eyes. Then my luck changed and I was taken to a nice room where I saw the doctor who said I could have some vaccinations and I was busting out! Not sure what that meant, but they were happy so I was happy! On March 16, some nice people put me in their cars and I traveled all day going in and out of different cars. It was sorta fun at first, but I got tired halfway through - I did have some extra weight rememeber but I sure liked the extra loving and snuggles I got along the way! I had a soft place to ride and some yummy treats! I sure felt like I won the lottery! After 8 hours I finally reached a place where I was told would be my home for awhile. I was put in a soft place and given some food - I sure was hungry after that long ride! I have been in this home getting ready to be a mommy. As of March 21 - I am in labor but no puppies yet. Check back for updates or see our facebook page! Once the puppies are born and weaned, they will travel to Wisconsin for adoptoin. Navi will be spayed and go through her heartworm treatment - then she too can travel north for a forever home. We will learn more about her personality and what she would like in a forever home as she lives with our foster. Please check back and thank you for choosing to adopt!

    Betty Lou

    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Female Female

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300.00. 3-221-2019 Hi! My name is Betty Lou and I have been with my foster family for a little over a month. When they came to rescue me from the shelter, I was so scared. My people that I love and trusted had just left me there and I was so confused and sad. How could my family abandon me like that? Well, when my fosters took me home, it took me 24 hours to come out of the corner I was in. I was so scared. But then i learned I could trust them. I slowly allowed them to pet me and it's the best feeling in the WORLD! Now when my people want to pet me and scratch my belly, I get so excited that I smile real big and snort like a piggy. I love them so much!! But that makes me a little nervous when people come over. I want to protect them so I tend to bark at people and will sometimes run at them to try to scare them away. But my foster mama is working at helping me trust that not all people are bad. After they have been at our house for a bit, I calm down and am fine. But I will need a patient, loving person who understand me and my needs and continue to work with me. I am only 3 years old, so I can be taught new things!! I like to fetch when the mood comes over me and chewing on Nylabones is a fun pastime for me! I ignore all the kitties in the house and do well with other dogs. However, I do like a quiet household. When all the other doggies get riled up, it tends to make me more nervous-especially when company comes. I would love someone who could take me on walks to slim me down for swimsuit season. It IS right around the block afterall... Is your home right for me? I would love to find that perfect person to call my own. Please consider me as your forever doggie. It would make me so happy. ❤ ~yours truly, Betty Lou 2-17-2019 Betty Lou has now been with us for 3 weeks and she has become a different dog! When the mood strikes her, she loves to grab a toy, shake is around and even run after it when you throw it! We are trying to use this as little bouts of exercise for her, and we believe she may have lost a little weight so far. She now comes to the door with the rest of the dogs to greet us and she has the most AMAZING smile when you start to pet her! She LOVES back massages and chin rubs, and her snorts and grunts will tell you just how much! Since getting her UTI under control, she has been GREAT about going potty outside. She DOES need to be let out right before bedtime though or else she will get up in the night to go. We put a potty pad out just in case and find that some mornings she used it, despite going out before bed. When she sleeps in bed with us, this is not an issue. We have several dogs coming and going because we also do petsitting. She does well with all dogs besides large ones. She will growl if they get too close and she feels threatened. She would do best in a home with another smaller dog OR as an only dog where she can get ALL the love. Although she has come leaps and bounds, she still has some fear issues. When unknown people come into the house, she stands between me and the person, barking in an unfriendly manner. She has ran up to 2 people and quickly grabbed their pant legs before running away. We are working on this behavior and are confident with more time and patience, this can corrected. She needs time to know thay people are safe, and firm but gentle correction is needed. We are so happy to be part of Betty Lou's healing, and we are hoping the perfect, chi experienced person will come along to show her how safe this world can be. When Betty Lou came to us, we knew very little of her past. What we did know was what the shelter workers told us, which was that she was extremely frightened and didn't like to be touched. We were determined to be patient with her though and allow her to come out of her shell in her own time. After coming to our home, she spent 24 hours, huddled in a corner. We would sit with her often, earning her trust and eventually petting her. When she knew she could trust us, she started to walk around and even ask to join the rest of the dogs on the couch! She has now been with us a week and she is san entirely different dog. When she is up on the couch, she comes to me and can't get close enough. She likes massages, belly rubs and gives me gentle kisses when she is happy. Betty Lou gets along with dogs and cats, and loves our girls who are 10 and 13. Because of her unknown past, older, quieter children would be best for her. An experienced Chihuahua owner would be preferable since she has the typical, quirky chi traits. She will need to loose a lot of weight and she sometimes snorts and grunts. She is a snorer also. Betty Lou will be a wonderful dog for someone who wants to take time with her and help her heal from her past. She has so much love to give and just needs to know she is safe. Betty Lou will be available for adoption the first week of March, 2019. She will continue on her weight loss program with grain free food. Adoption donation is $300.00

Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Updated: 03/21/2019 Hi, I'm Malone! I am about 5 months old and weigh 30 lbs. If you want to cuddle *and* play, then I’m your dog! I love morning and mid-day walks, and enjoy meeting and playing with two-legged and four-legged friends. You should have seen the fun I had playing with my Georgia buddies at the Petco adoption event. At night, I go to my crate when my foster dad says, “kennel.” And it’s no problem if mom and dad have to be gone for a good chunk of the day, I just hang out in my crate. I can go all night without having to go outside. No problem! When it’s time to relieve myself, I simply go to the door and someone lets me out so I can do my business. (I even did this at my foster brother’s house who lives on the second floor.) When I arrived from Georgia, I was pretty stinky, so mom and dad gave me a bath. No big deal. I just stood there while they made me look and smell handsome. Dad and Mom play with my toes, ears, mouth and eyes. I don’t mind this at all. I have a good appetite and like to drink water. I’ve been on a couple 2-hour-long car rides and did just fine. I really like to play fetch. (You’ll be impressed that I drop the ball when I return it to the ball thrower.) This helps me burn some energy. Plus, I’m smart. You’ll like how I follow commands. They tell me I'm in training to meet my furever family - could that be you?!? Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). HI! How are you? My name is Goldie, and I am about 2 and FULL of energy! I am part of the Retrievers and Redemption program, and I love to play fetch, tug is pretty good and so is wrestling, but toys are my everything. I am a bit of a pest to other dogs, because all I want to do is play, and I don't seem to get the cues from them when they are done or don't want to play at all. So I will for sure need some training classes and maybe be an only dog until I learn the ropes. Speaking of training, I don't have much. I have what my foster mom call popcorn butt. I touch the floor to sit when asked but pop right back up. So I do know sit and my shake is ok, but that is about it. I also take treats a bit hard since I am so excited. So we are working on all of this in foster care and hope to be better about it soon.. I am a sweet girl who will lay around with you and look for rubs and pets and likes to chew on bones when we are just in the room. I have my Vet check up next week and will be ready to start meeting families after that. So if you are interested in me, please let LEARN know! ~ Goldie

Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Updated: 03/08/2019 Hi there! Are you looking for a happy, energetic, young, small dog to add to your family? Well then you’re in the right place. My name is Ned and I’m approximately 6 months old and weigh about 20 lbs. They say I’m a terrier mix. I’m on the small side but I have a long body, a big heart of gold and gorgeous eyes. My foster Mom says that I put a smile on her face every day as I investigate the world around me. Since I’m young, I’m very curious and I use my mouth to explore things. My Foster Mom is teaching me what I can put in my mouth and what is off limits. She says that I’m a quick learner. I love, love, love to play with my toys. When I get bored with one, I move on to another. I also like to run after my Foster brother (a 7 year old, 70lbs boxer mix). He doesn’t always join in my play, but he lets me dance around him. Because I can get very excited, I’d be best in a house with school age kids or older. I spend the day in the crate when Foster Mom goes to work and at night. She says that since I’m still learning house manners, its best to avoid temptation when I’m alone. If you think we could be friends, please fill out an adoption application and come see me. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.
