Posted Breed: Red Heeler (short coat). Adoption Fee: 180. {s3829code380/} If you would like to provide this dog a loving home, please fill out a pre-adoption application. Have a question? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. Statistics Name: Reggie Breed: Red Heeler Age: 10 Months (approx. DOB: 12/19/17) Size: Medium (once fully grown) ~Medium range: 26-60 lbs Adoption Donation: $180 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check. Other: Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip, Older Considerate children ** Reggie will need a home free of items he might ingest or drink while not in his chair - a home (with older responsible children and adults) who won't spill or leave snacks lying around is going to be a must. Reggie has a digestive disorder called Megaesophagus (Mega E). See the link: .petmd/dog/conditions/digestive/c_dg_megaesophagus Reggie is a cute little guy! Foster Home Feedback *Megaesophagus < click to read more. 11/5/18: Reggie is doing great in his foster home. He is kennel trained & rarely has an accident. Reggie gets along with other dogs & animals but is too rough for the smaller animals. He also has a high prey drive. That being said, he listens very well and is free roam with farm animals (in a fenced yard) and does well while supervised. He still has Mega E and needs to eat at least three times a day. We switched to twice a day, to make it more convenient, but it just didn’t work out for Reggie since he is high energy and does better on smaller more frequent meals. He can always have two evening meals and not a noon meal. Reggie is a smart, loyal, high energy dog and is very motivated to please his person. He is the definition of a Heeler, and is always by my side! Reggie can jump 6-foot fences and would probably do best in a rural setting. He will chase cars if he gets the chance. He’s a cattle dog so that is just his instinct. 6/26/18: Reggie’s seriously awesome. Sometimes he’s a barker and annoying...but overall he is the smartest dog ever! He’s a runt, and will most like stay small. He has Megaesophagus and requires an extra hour of feeding time per day - but that is seriously nothing compared to where he was at four months ago. Reggie will chase cats and chickens. He would do best with bigger or same size dogs. He listens very well. Reggie is a super loyal companion and is always at your heels! He is kennel trained; he only barks when kenneled and you’re visible to him, or if he sees the cats. Reggie cannot free roam, he will eat stuff and could aspirate or choke. No small kids for Reggie since they might leave a trail of food crumbs. Reggie is a great dog! You would have a wonderful companion for a little bit of care. 6/5/18: Reggie is potty trained. He also knows the commands sit and lay. Reggie comes when called and is easily redirected when he’s being naughty, etc. He’s by far the smartest dog I’ve ever met! 4/2/18: Reggie is a hyper, happy, smart puppy! He knows how to sit, almost knows ‘lay down’ and he is very alert and motivated to learn! Reggie has Megaesophagus and he cannot eat like a normal dog. He has several meals throughout the day, and his food has to be in an applesauce consistency and fed while in an upright position. Currently, he eats from a high bowl in his kennel and then is held upright for half an hour after each feeding. Reggie was blessed with a 4LOD volunteer making him a Bailey chair, so eventually, he will eat from that. It will keep him in an upright position & he’ll eventually learn to stay and sit upright in the chair while his food is settling in his belly. You can watch very cute videos of Megaesophagus dogs in their Bailey chairs on YouTube! If Reggie drinks water or hard food, or food of a consistency that he cannot tolerate, he’ll regurgitate or he could aspirate. Luckily he has been doing great and is now on Taste of the Wild puppy food, soaked for a few hours in water and mashed. Reggie is a great dog. He will be an amazing, loyal, & smart companion. He is looking for a forever home that will love him and understand that his special needs may be lifelong. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: .4luvofdog

    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 180. {s3829code380/} If you would like to provide this dog a loving home, please fill out a pre-adoption application. Have a question? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. Statistics Name: Bizzy Breed: Boxer Mix Age: 2 Years Size: Medium 59 lbs. ~Medium range: 26-60 lbs Adoption Donation: $180 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check. Other: Spayed Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip, NOT apartment friendly Bizzy is very sweet and affectionate! Foster Home Feedback 10/22/18: Bizzy has come a long way! I am so proud of her! Her barking only consists of when someone knocks on the door or she has a toy in her mouth and wants you to play with her. She has been super friendly and shown no hesitation when meeting new people. Bizzy absolutely loves to cuddle! She will snooze with you all day if you let her. She is also an excellent leg warmer at night in bed. Bizzy knows sit, down, shake and stay (though actually staying we are still working on). She has to sit before she can eat her food, and she has to sit before she goes outside and before she can come back in. She plays super well with other dogs. I would not recommend young children as she doesn’t know how big she is. She is pretty solid and throws her body around being goofy. Bizzy LOVES being outside. A home with a fenced in yard would be perfect, but if she can get daily walks/runs, she will get along just fine. She just has a lot of energy as she is still young. We are still learning how to walk on a leash. That will take some time. Bizzy would do best as an only dog as she is an attention queen and needs to be the center of her families lives. Whoever adds this absolute sweet pea to their family will be one lucky person! 7/17/18: We continue to enjoy Bizzy’s fun-loving personality and big goofy smile. After getting to know her a little better, we have discovered that she seems to be more shy and cautious around new men. She seems interested in meeting new people but she wants to take her time to make sure they are safe. She has met several of our family members, friends, and neighbors and she has warmed up to them and seems comfortable. Giving Bizzy treats definitely helps win her over! We continue to work on having slow introductions to new men with lots of positive reinforcement. We have discovered that she does not do well in an apartment setting because of all the new people she may encounter in the hallways and it can be a little overwhelming for her. We went to the pet store recently and Bizzy didn’t bark at all! She seemed to forget her leash manners with all the excitement of the pet store. She whined a little when she couldn’t play with the other dog customers, but overall she did great. She also went to the dog park recently and did well interacting with all the dogs and their owners. Bizzy has been doing well learning to walk nicely on a leash but she is very strong and gets overly excited if she sees another dog or animal. She’s a social butterfly and just wants to play! She also gets excited when it’s time to get out of her crate or when it’s time to eat. Bizzy is learning that it's polite to sit and wait and not jump up on people. A home with older kids may be a better fit for Bizzy because of her jumping. She has been great with our 4-year-old daughter but we are also mindful of not having our daughter nearby when we know Bizzy is likely to be overly excited- i.e. when letting her out of the kennel or feeding time (she just LOVES to eat). We continue to work on fine-tuning her basic manners and Bizzy is a great student since she is very food motivated and also eager to please! 6/24/18: We have only had Bizzy in our home for 3 days and so far she has been a great house guest! We've found that she will usually bark & growl when she first meets someone new but she warms up quickly, especially if you give her treats! Bizzy had settled right into our family~ she is amazingly tolerant of our dog who constantly wants to jump on her and play. Bizzy hasn't had any accidents in our home and she is kennel trained. She is always very happy to see us when we come home and her whole body shakes with excitement. Some of her favorite hobbies seem to be playing fetch and chewing bones. Bizzy has also been great with our 4-year-old daughter. Bizzy is a sweet and playful girl! Once she gets to know you, she will be the perfect sidekick! He went to Adoption Days today, his first outing, so we weren’t sure what to expect. His temperament was awesome! Polka's tail never stopped wagging and he wanted to meet every dog in there. He really brought a smile to everyone’s face with his happiness. When he met dogs, if they signaled they didn’t want to play, he backed right off and took the queues beautifully. He shared his toys and distributed many kisses to all the adults and children. Polka would be great with a dog friend or on his own and a great dear pup to take with to events since he is so happy go lucky 10/25/18 Volunteer Feedback: I got to spend the morning with Polka today, what a cute and fun dog. He is so happy and quiet. He just loved when I threw the ball and he would bring it right back to me and drop it. I’d pick it up and he’d wait patiently while I threw it again. Polka was so polite and happy. I think he will be such a loyal and great family member. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: .4luvofdog

Foster Home Feedback 11/1/18: Teegan is a lover! He loves to show affection and is SO happy when we arrive home. He loves to be pet and just wants to rest his head on his humans. When we leave, he goes right into the kennel with a treat and antler to chew on. (With time, I think he would do just fine out of the kennel after exercise.) Teegan does just fine in the kennel for 5 hours or so, but is ready to play upon our arrival home as he still has puppy energy! He knows how to sit and wants to please us. I’ve never known a dog (or human for that matter) who will sit and just watch me so intently without making a peep, just a loving gaze. Teegan is potty trained and will get right down to business outside. Teegan will bark if he hears an unfamiliar noise or another dog barking, but he does totally fine meeting strangers. Teegan plays wonderfully with our dog. He normally tires out first and will simply lay down and nap after playtime. Teegan will be a great dog for a loving home.
