Check out our website: fohari Adoption Application: fohari/aa I will be at PETSMART in Johnston 1386 Atwood Ave on Sunday 11/11 from 10:30am -1pm. COME MEET ME!! Adoption Donation $ 199 Located: RI Age: approx 10 years old Weight: 10 lbs HYPOALLERGENIC Chewy is a very sweet boy who loves adventure and playing with other pups. The the vet estimated his age to be around 10 but he acts much younger then that. Though not a lap pup, h e is continuing to seek “people” attention and is getting more affectionate by the day. He responds well to redirection and is learning the “come”, “settle”, and “leave it” commands. He loves going for walks and running around the fenced in backyard. Chewy loves to eat and will let you know when he thinks it is time to have breakfast or dinner. FOHA had surgery to remove Chew y's bladder stones and he is doing well & is on Science Diet W/D to prevent a recurrence. Chewy has come a long way from the sickly, abandoned pup that we rescued from NY. He has had the tumor on his side removed and he has had his bladder stones removed as well. As mu ch as I love seeing him grow into a happy, healthy, loving pup, he is ready to go to a home that he can call his own. Posted Breed: Boston Terrier (short coat). Check out our website: fohari Adoption Application: fohari/aa Adoption donation $ 699 Located: New England Pure Boston Terrier. AGE: approx 6 years WEIGHT: approx 21 lbs Up to date on everything and fixed. We don't know about the first five years of Frankie's life. He was found as a stray and FOHA rescued him from a shelter. He was neutered, vaccinated, and checked over at a vet clinic. He had a mast cell tumor in his scrotum area, that I believe was removed. The vet felt that his cloudy eye was a corneal abrasion. As far as other information about him- he is friendly, and gets along with other dogs and children. He is a bit hyper, loves to play with toys, and hasn't learned all his manners. He loves his human and wants to be in your lap, but he will pester you by climbing and licking. He is housebroken and he has a fenced yard at his foster parents. He's been on leash, but needs a little more work. He will benefit from more structure and training so he's better behaved. He can be a bit of a handful at times. I think he would prefer a woman or a couple as his owner, he prefers female dogs over males, dislikes cats, and children 8 and up would be best. He appears to have some cloudiness in one eye - possibly from an old injury. If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please go to our website: FOHARI.ORG and complete an online application and do a deposit to hold Frankie while we process your application. My name is Pete (aka Pogo) and I am a 3.5 year old hound/terrier mix. I love to play, run, swim, and go for walks. One of my favorite games is fetch!! I would be so happy to go on car rides and hang out with my humans. I am full of life and will give you endless kisses in return. My foster dad says I'm totally ready for a furever home. I am a loyal companion and really good at showing my affection. Did I mention that I am house and crate trained? I am a really good student too! I recently completed training classes with one of the best local trainers, Heather Gutshall of Outbound Hounds. I was even named Student of the Week. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in a specific dog, please fill out an application if you are interested in a dog. The number of individual inquiries is overwhelming and we are finding it difficult to respond to each one. We cannot guarantee you will receive a timely response. Paws New England is a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our dogs housed in one location - they are in foster homes both in New England and in our southern foster homes. If you're interested in a specific dog, please complete a short online application and you will receive a reply within 48 hours so you can ask questions. At present, if a dog is listed on our website, the dog is considered still available HOWEVER, may have applications that have come in before yours but it's still too early to know if any are a good match; therefore we encourage you to apply. NOTICE WITH REGARD TO LOCATION OF DOGS: Please note: Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a brick and mortar building to house the dogs we rescue. We have found that dogs in foster homes are much more adoptable because they have been observed in a home setting. Dogs listed with Paws New England typically reside in various locations throughout the south (primarily Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas) and New England (not necessarily in the state of Rhode Island). You will be notified by the adoption coordinator of the location of the dog you are interested in so you have the ability to decide whether to pursue adoption or not. Dogs transported to New England are done so at a fee of $150.00 paid directly to the transporting company by Paws New England; no additional transport costs are responsibility of adopter. This fee is included in the adoption donation. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your dog will help others in need. All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history. Posted Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Greyhound / Mixed. Now fostering in New England! For more information about this particular dog, please email: mchen.pawsnegmail Hi there, my name is Mariachi, Mari for short! I'm a 4.5 year old greyhound/lab mix and weighing a slim 53 lbs. I'm a shy girl at first, but once I get to know you I'm all tail wags, kisses and snuggles. My foster family says I'm very sweet and easy peasy. I enjoy hanging out in on my dog bed, on the couch (when they let me!), am housetrained and only play with my own toys, so you don't have to worry about me when you're off to work. Outdoor activities like walks, runs and swims are really fun for me. I would love to have a family who will take me out with them or enjoy spending time in the yard. I'm a sensitive soul and look to my people for comfort because before becoming a PAWS New England dog, I was chained outside in rural Tennessee, and as a result I’m a bit shy. I completely shut down after my trip up north and it took me many months to learn how to walk on a leash and potty outside. But don't let that fact turn you away from me. I've turned into a snuggle bug at my foster home and have no issues hanging out in the yard and enjoying the New England weather. I really am a goofy dog once you get to know me! I'm hoping to join a patient and loving family who will give me time to adjust to my new home. I get scared by loud noises and at night I would prefer to sleep in your room, if you don't mind. I do have one quirk and it's that living with dogs makes me nervous, but I do enjoy socializing with dogs I meet on my walks. I am currently fostering with 2 canine brothers and enjoy spending time with them. I'm just unsure of how to interact with dogs sometimes, so I would really love to be your one and only in your home. I promise, once I'm comfortable, I'll be the best companion you could ever ask for! If you're looking for a snuggle partner in crime, then we'd be a perfect match! Posted Breed: Boxer / Dalmatian / Mixed. This sweet unique girl is D.G. We believe that she is a Boxer/Dalmation mix. She is completely deaf. But don't let that fool you, she is super smart. She goes to a trainer for 3 days a week and stays where she has been learning sign language. So far she knows sit, stay, no, and come!! All are still a work in progress and will need someone that is willing to continue working and practicing with her. (A video is in works of the signs being used.) D.G. is great with other dogs. She is living with 4 and there are always different dogs at day care for her to play with. She does like to play rough, so will do best with dogs that are closer to her size. Because she can't hear, with new dogs it sometimes takes her a little bit to figure out their signals. If they are vocal with their signals, she can't hear them so it takes her a little bit. There are also cats roaming around the training/day care facility and she does awesome around the. D.G. has been around kids of all ages and does great with them. She is a laid back girl for the most part and is happy hanging out or chasing a ball. She does get moments of zoomies, but they don't last long. She is great in her kennel and is doing great at learning house manners. She is house trained, but does have a dog door, so she will need time to adjust in her new home. Video of D.G. Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. You really won't meet a happier girl!! Princess arrives to PAWS from our partner shelter in TN after arriving to them as a stray. She was already spayed and microchipped when she arrived to the shelter and obviously belonged to someone. The shelter was able to get in touch with her owner, who declined to come to the shelter to get her. Their loss!!! We are more than happy to welcome Princess into the PAWS family and help her fine a forever family who will cherish her!! Princess seems to love every human and dog she meets. She doesn't seem to know a stranger!! She loves to play in the water and will all day if you'll let her. She also enjoys romping with her canine friends at the park. We think she'd do well with another active and playful dog in the home who won't mind all of the playing and romping that she loves to do. Posted Breed: Beagle / Mixed. Sweet Gracie is sooooo ready to flood your life with sunshine! She spent most of her life in a chicken coop until the day she made her escape and was rescued. Lucky girl! Now she’s learning all about air conditioning and soft beds and couches and doggie buddies and nice, attentive humans who want to shower her with love. Being in a home with other well-loved and social dogs has helped tremendously! But she is taking these new steps gradually and is understandably cautious. Gracie needs proper introductions with new dogs - she does fine with very brief initial interactions, but when they stay too close for too long, she gets nervous. She is currently fostering with 4 other dogs – 2 beagles and 2 large dogs – and she has done fine with them with the proper slow introductions. Gracie is a true beagle and LOVES to follow her nose! She will follow a scent trail as far as she can (so fun to watch!) and will try to chase small critters in motion, such as squirrels, birds, and cats. Gracie is a smart girl, eager to learn, and very food motivated! She is house-broken and we’re now working on leash-training! If you think some beagle sunshine might be right for you, fill out an application to learn more about Gracie!
