Posted Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Terrier (long coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 12/15/2018 Reason for being in rescue: nc stray Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Abner has an early cataract in one eye. It does not slow him down, but may need to be addressed long-term. Weight: 7 lbs - needs to gain another 1-2 lbs Height: in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Abner is an easy-going boy looking for an easy-going life. He wants a lap to sit in and someone who is home to give him lots of love Abner would be fine as the only dog or in a home with other dogs. What is my personality like? Abner is as sweet as they come! We don't know what led to this boy wandering the streets, but he has clearly been loved. Abner has the calmest demeanor. He loves openly and freely. He enjoys going outside to potty, but isn't a long walk kind of dog. Abner wants a lap to call his own and a bed to cuddle in at night. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Abner has a heart as big as Texas that he is ready to give to his forever home! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Dixie needs an active home with owners that have experience with a large, energetic, high strung dog. What is my personality like? So far, Dixie seems to be high strung and hates being crated or in small fenced in areas. She has a lot of energy and wants to be out in the open! She has shown a little interest in toys but is far too distracted by everything going on around her. When walking on a leash she gets overly excited and pulls constantly. Dixie would benefit greatly by obedience training and also someone that can pin point where her anxiety stems from. Some dogs she is okay with but she would vastly prefer to be your one and only with perhaps occasional play dates. Dogs that are more calm do best with Dixie - but we know from her previous owner that the dog must stand up to Dixie if she gets too wild for them. Dixie was too much for the senior lab who did nothing about Dixie's puppy antics but the older, smaller dog in the home put her in her place and she accepted his direction. Hyper or head strong dogs overwhelm her. We believe that her special person is out there somewhere that will help her grow! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly, a little shy. She is affectionate when she adjusts. Other tips and tidbits: Dixie is a work in progress but she has potential! CPR pulled him from the local shelter. Owners did not want. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Ear infections - he is being treated now and is slowly getting better but those ears will most likely require ongoing maintenance. He had entropian surgery on his left eye and needs suture removal end of January. Weight: 30 lb Height: 18 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $269 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Moses is a family dog. He is looking for an active family that wants a loving companion. Moses would really like to be the only dog. He would be fine in a home with cats. What is my personality like? Moses is a loving boy. He is still young and has a lot of energy. Moses has a tendency to to bark when he first meets other dogs - we really think he would prefer to be your one and only. Moses is fine with cats. He will sniff them curiously and then ignore them. We have not observed him playing with toys yet. Moses walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. Moses absolutely hates being in a crate- and wants to be out with his humans! We have learned that Moses can be stubborn, and will nip if he is being made to do something he does want to do. It is best to use treats to get him to do what you would like him to do since he is highly treat motivated. This behavior may be able to be corrected with a trainer. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: We aren't sure how a family could not want this precious boy, but know Moses's forever family is waiting for him! Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless. Thank you for your interest in Tarzan. Because he has recently received several applications, we are putting a hold on any new ones for the time being. Feel free to check back or look at our other dogs. Tarzan is a great dude! He's a 5 yr old, gorgeous, intermediate Xolo, weighing approximately 17 pounds and full of loyalty, love, and doofus-ness. We are so proud of what a great dog he's become in foster care, and now it's his forever home's turn to take him the rest of the way to his future! Tarzan is active and loves toys! "Hoards toys" is a better way of putting things. But he's happy to fetch with you, or pile them up all on his own. He also enjoys running and playing in the yard, as well as major bootie scratches. He is happy for you to dress him up in clothes or silly costumes, as long as he gets to be with you. He'll walk right by your side on a leash around the neighborhood. He loves his person with his whole heart, and is happy to cuddle up on the couch and just be with you, or curl up in a dog bed out of the way. He comes when called. Truly, a lovely companion dog. Tarzan does suffer from severe dry-eye, which requires daily drops and lubrication. In some of his pictures, you will see the goop that shows up in his left eye, which is easily wiped off a few times a day. He's a good sport about it, but it is a chronic condition that must be treated every single day. He is also on phenobarbytol and has not had any seizures since starting this medication. Tarzan would love a home with a fenced in yard, but it's not necessary as long as he has owners who are dedicated to giving him plenty of chances to walk outside. He enjoys walks and has learned to do his business while on a leash. His potty manners have been good in his foster home as long as he is taken out frequently and you pay attention to his routine . He's not such a fan of going out in the rain, and you have to go out with him to make sure he doesn't fake you out. He would get along fine with other dogs, as he's very submissive and goes with the flow. He can get into things when home alone, and so it's best if he's crated when you leave the house. He likes his crate just fine. He is being fostered with cats and although initially it didn't go so well, that has settled down. One cat is dog-savvy and not intimidated, and he just ignores. The other cat runs away, and that one, he barks at and chases. He's being fostered in Greenville, SC. Any adopter should live within driving distance, however far that is for you. He is neutered, chipped, and up-to-date on all his shots. Applications and inquiries are welcome (email baldisbeautifuldogrescuegmail).
