    Breed: Siberian Husky
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (long coat). .huskyrescueteam If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam I'm Juliet! I was turned into a shelter in Georgia by my owner. I use that word loosely since he sold my puppies and fed me such terrible food. See when you feed a Husky awful food it does bad things to our coats. But my foster Mom says she's got my coat back on track and I'm as beautiful as they come. I'm about five years old. That's a great age for a Husky you know. At this age we don't crazy high energy levels and we prefer to hang out with our peoples more than running for miles. I'm a pretty low key gal but am a total hoot! I have a comical personality I love treats and to be pet. I'd like a home where someone will dote on me with maybe one other dog but I'm also okay to be by myself. And get this.... If you slowly introduce your cat to me I'll even be buddies with them! I'm not very vocal, I'm potty trained and I'm crate trained. I'd even be fine in an apartment as long as I get walked regularly. The rescue has treated the nasty heartworms I had and will be making my teeth pretty again. A girl's gotta have a nice smile. If you give me love, I'll be your gal for a lifetime. I'll be hanging out here in Georgia in my foster home until you're ready to be my forever family. Please apply today and my rescue will drive me up to MD or NJ to meet you! Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. Amblin - ON ...

    Breed: Siberian Husky
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (long coat). .huskyrescueteam If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam Hey everyone! Meet Amblin. Amblin was brought into a high kill shelter in GA as a stray. We were then informed his owners were coming to reclaim him. But no one came. He was scheduled to be euthanized without rescue commitment yesterday at 3pm. How could we let that happen? So we pulled together some last minute resources and found a place for Amblin to stay until he can find his forever home. It was tough because we have so many dogs in rescue already, but he is SAFE! Amblin is missing part of his lip... But ya know what? We think that adds character. Each of our guys have a story to tell... But we promise each they'll have a happy ending. Welcome to the H-E-A-R-T pack, AMBLIN! This guy is so much fun and has tons of energy. He plays from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep. He is crate trained, potty trained and your classic young husky. He is eager to please and food motivated. He does have puppy manners so we're working with him not to jump up or to play bite. Until he can be broken of those we suggest a home with no older dogs and no younger children. Amblin would be great for someone who is very active. PUPDATE from his Foster Mom, 7/25/18: "Amblin has been with us for a little over a month now, and has really settled in, and his real personality is starting to shine. Ambi came to us completely as a complete wild child!! No training, and 100% husky to the max, but you can tell there was some frightened feelings there lurking behind his happy puppy persona. We have given him love and stability, and shown him with a real home and family is. He now knows he no longer has to worry about food and water, although he still tries to scavenge droplets off blades of grass! We have been working diligently on proper manners, how to be gentle, and how to play nicely with his foster brothers. Although he occasionally forgets sometimes, he really is trying, and man does he want to please his people! He looks to us for approval and love, always. One trait that not all huskies have is the snuggle bug, but our little boy sure has it. When he finally has worn down his batteries he loves to snuggle up on the couch with you, it’s quite a lovely feeling. In true husky fashion Amblin loves to run around and chase things, and he loves to play catch. It is highly recommended that his new family have a fenced yard. He is still very young and will need lots of attention and activity to keep him occupied. Because of his energy level and excitement, it best to go to home with no small children, or senior dogs." VIDEO: m.facebook/story.php?story_fbid=375734279586667&id=284429992050430 Amblin will be making his way to his foster home in Maryland the middle of June. It's your applications in today! ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. To learn about fostering dogs like Rebok please contact us at .dogsxlrescue/volunteer/foster Name: Rebok Breed: Black Labrador Retriever/Collie Mix Approximate Age: 6 Years Approximate Weight: 50 Lbs Currently Living at: Local Foster Home Hi! My name is Rebok, though my foster mom calls me Reebs or silly monkey. I love to play the new game I learned: fetch. My mom throws the ball and I get it. I love the part where she chases me with the ball in my mouth. She really likes that ball. I love to snuggle with her and she says sometimes, I don't realize how big I am. I say I can still fit in her lap. I used to be afraid of stair but not anymore. We are working on riding in a car, walking nicely on a leash and my reaction to other dogs and cats. I think it is going great right now. I don't mind riding in the car as much and my mom got some great tips from a trainer. I need a little work but I will work hard, especially if you have any treats :). Please ask us about this sweet-natured loveable boy! Request more information about Rebok at infodogsxlrescue Rebok needs a foster or a loving forever home to lavish love and attention on him. Please open your heart and home to Rebok! The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which includes the cost of heartworm treatment and routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. rescue
    Breed: Beagle-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Mixed. BOBBY IS WISHING FOR YOU. Bobby is adorable, as you can see from his short video here. He needs a home where he can learn to feel calm, safe, and loved. Once he trusts you, he will leap into your lap for hugs—although he’s a bit bigger than a lap dog. Sometimes he just sits quietly, soaking in the attention. He’s an easy walking buddy, and he enjoys car rides. PAW is seeking an all-adult home where he is the only pup (and sorry, no kitties). Bobby was mistreated in the past, so patience is needed in helping him overcome his fear of strangers and some aspects of the world around him. We’re also hoping his people will continue with his training. Bobby is 2 years old and weighs 28 pounds. To submit an adoption application go to: .petstablished/pets/public/256857 Come and meet our PAW dogs at one of our weekend adoption shows at local area pet stores. The shows run from 12 - 2 pm. Not all our dogs attend every show so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog send an email to infopaw-rescue before coming to the show to arrange a visit. PLEASE NOTE: We can adopt our animals to locations within one to two hours of the MD/DC/VA metropolitan area.

    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua. Sandy is 10 and a real love bug. However, she is special needs. She has grade 4 bi-lateral subluxing patellas (bad knees) but is able to get around quite well. In addition, she has been diagnosed with Cushings. Hers is on the adrenal gland, rather than the pituitary gland. She is on medication and the biggest consequence is her ability to control her bladder. She has also had a couple of seizures but none recently and they haven't been to the point where she needs medication. She would need regular blood tests and to continue on the medication so there is some commitment involved. Great with children of all ages, but would do best in a home with older children who can be gentle with her. Could that family be yours? She certainly hopes so! ========================= About Our Rescue Group: The St. Mary's Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit, rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, care and placement of abused, neglected and homeless companion animals. Our animals are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered and receive medical treatment before being placed in carefully selected homes. We strive to educate the community in areas of humane education and responsible pet ownership as well as helping to control the pet overpopulation in our area by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals. ===Come Meet Our Pets: Come meet our cats every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Petco in California Maryland. We also have a cat facility in Callaway. The Cat Castle Rescue Center is located in the Callaway Village Shopping Center and is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Please contact infosmawl for appointments to meet our dogs. ===Our Adoption Process: It is the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League’s policy to attempt to place each of our rescued animals in a home that is well- suited to their needs. Once an animal is placed from our rescue, the animal cannot be sold, given away or otherwise transferred. If the adopter is, at any time, unable to keep or continue to maintain the animal for any reason, the animal must be returned to the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League. We work hard at matching our animals to adopters, so they may end their search for a loving, permanent home. Temperament, special needs and personality are all factors in our placements. ===Step #1 The Adoption Application The initial step in our adoption process is the Adoption Application. This can either be done online or in person. The Adoption form must be filled out completely including vet references and two personal non-family references. Your application will be reviewed and your references will be contacted. We contact your veterinarian to ensure that your current or recently deceased pets were properly taken care of---this means being current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered. In order to speed up the process, please contact your veterinarian and let them know to expect our call. ===Step #2 Personal Interview You will be interviewed by a SMAWL Board Member or Volunteer either through phone, email or in person. This is an opportunity to learn more specifics about you, your family, your pets and the type of pet you are looking for. At this time, we may suggest that you consider a different animal---one that we may feel might be more acceptable for your situation. If you are completing your application in person, this will most likely be done at that time of completion. ===Step #3 The Home Visit If all goes well with the application verification, we will schedule a home visit. A home visit is required to ensure that your home is everything you say it is on the Adoption Application. It needs to be a suitable safe environment for your new pet. All pets and family members should be home at this time. ===Step #4 Meeting Your Potential Adoptee Once the Application has been reviewed and all references checked, arrangements will be made for you to meet with the animal you wish to adopt, either through the foster parent or the animal’s Case Manager. As a courtesy to our foster families, we do not ask them to show their animals to individuals until we have completed the application approval process. If you have other animals, we recommend a neutral meeting place, such as PETCO or a local park to ensure the animals are compatible outside of their own territory. ===Step #5 Finalizing The Adoption Once the adoption has been approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption. You will need to sign the contract and pay our adoption fee. (Young Dogs Under 1 =$300, Dogs over 1 = $250, Young Cats 2 years and under =$125, Older Cats over 2 years = $75) Foster to adopt over a two week period may be available on a case by case basis. Any applications received for adoptions from beyond St Mary's county line, will be subject to additional terms and conditions available on request. Please Remember: Our entire organization is staffed by volunteers. We have NO paid staff. Our volunteers must work your application around their business and personal lives. We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 2-3 days, and most of the time we are able to respond within 1 day. Please be patient and thank the volunteers you meet for their service to our community’s homeless pet population. === We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We serve the Southern Maryland area.

Posted Breed: Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. I’m a 5 year old Shepherd mix. I'm already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, microchipped and good with kids, dogs, and cats. On top of that, I’m acing crate training AND taking obedience classes! I'm learning new things including walking on a leash. I do require a bath every week with medicated shampoo and ear cleanings. I also take 3 benedryl (75mg) 2x daily (for a total of 150 mg/day), 2000 mg of fish oil and Apoquel daily to help with my coat and itching. I tend to be quiet but don’t let that fool you! I love people and want to be by your side. I love to initiate play, and I’m eager to be with people and other dogs. I’ve lived with my brother (Gregory) my whole life, so I’ll probably do best in a home with another dog! Come see me at some adoption events or fill out an application to set up a meet and greet. ========================= About Our Rescue Group: The St. Mary's Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit, rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, care and placement of abused, neglected and homeless companion animals. Posted Breed: Shar Pei / Vizsla / Mixed (short coat). **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit .petconnectrescue to complete our non-binding application.** You clicked on my picture so that must mean my handsome, albeit wrinkled, face caught your eye. Well, now that you're here, let me assure you I am far more than just a handsome face! While my name is Barley, I think it should have been Mr. Wonderful because wonderful is what I am. I'm a 4 year old Shar Pei/Vizsla mix who has all of the qualities anyone could want in a 4-legged friend. I love other dogs and am the perfect combination of playful and respectful with them. Kids are another favorite of mine, especially those that are 6 and up. They drop the tastiest treats and give me lots of love, thus I am very gentle with them. I walk well on leash and love car rides. Because I am so well-behaved and greet people politely, my foster mom has taken me to the local wineries and coffee shops where I get to meet new people and get lots of attention because no one can resist my wrinkles. I love my foster mom and the resident dog, but I'd really love to find a family of my own. If you're looking for a well-mannered fella who will accompany you on your outings and snuggle with you in the evening, I might just be the perfect match! Barley is house and crate trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives and eager to find a family to love! The adoption fee for this dog is $295, which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** To complete an online application, please click here and email Kim at KLarimerpetconnectrescue.
